I beg to differ, I think this show is pretty much in par with other current mytho shows. 😆 Yeah, it may have better sets and technology (and cast) that Suryaputra Karan and Mahabali Hanuman, but in terms of authenticity and distortions, all three shows are pretty much the same in the way they're handling the story. 🤔

King Dashrath not being "in touch" with his people is a total and utter distortion made by the show to attack his character even further. He is already a despicable character in the show, someone who is so hard to like, so it's easy to show so many distortions about his character since people are only so willing to believe them.

In Valmiki Ramayan, it is written that Dashrath was very much in tune with his people's wishes and desires. He often wore the clothes of a commoner and mingled with the people to understand what their thoughts and feelings were about his rule, and when he decided to make Ram his heir in Ayodhya Kand, he imported knowledge about how an ideal King should be. He told Ram that a King is actually the servant of the people, and not the other way around, and that a King should sacrifice everything to keep his subjects happy. It is this ideology that Ram followed when he became King.

Dashrath was a great King, well loved by his people as if he was their own father. SKR's Dashrath is totally different from the epic Dashrath.

I totally dislike how the CVs are exalting King Janak by degrading Dashrath. Both of them were great in their own way. There's no need to show one lesser to show the other as great. 🤬

As per the latest promo Kaikey will try to create differences between Ram and Bharat 😆

I dont know what to say.One of the unique points of Ramayana is that there were 4 bothers who really loved and respected each other and never fought with each other for power. Not sure what is the reason to distort that fact.

Just hope Star Bharat doesn't fall into Star Kaikeya's trap

Also wanted to check did Dashrath really promise Kaikey's father that her son will be the heir as per Valmiki's Ramayan?

As far as i remember there is no such promise in the actual epic

Yeah, and people think this portrayal of Kaikeyi is more realistic , though the epic has no account of her being so selfish and calculating before the rajyabhishek track.

Valmiki Ramayan doesn't have the exact scene written out, but I do think it is implied at some point. Don't know for sure though, but this story is pretty popular and well accepted.

It's like Lakshman rekha, which is not mentioned in Aranya Kand during Sita haran, but it's implied during Yudh Kand by Mandodari when she accuses Ravan of not being able to cross Lakshman's line.

Bookmarking this thread. Full of interesting authentic information and discussions. So much better than this fictional rubbish could ever be.
No vibe of Ramayana is there in the show. Ram Ji looks like Prithvi raj Chouhan. Sita hi looks like Sanyogita!

More torturous drama are written in the fate of the unsuspecting viewers. Sigh.
