I think he will never be able to relate to what Mauli went through because Kunal was never betrayed by Mauli. Yes he did lose her but Mauli didn't have an affair behind his back. So he will never understand what she went through. The element of betrayal is missing.

Where did Ishaan Mauli track develop in this ML?Already Mauli had said to Ishaan that now my life is with you and Mishti .. Toh I mean this ML wala kunal, a patient what Sabak did Gajra wanted to teach to a Patient ?If kunal had developed feelings again for Mauli if he would had felt guilty of what he had done, kunal and Ishaan both trying to win hearts. It was still justified.

I don't see any justification here, it's like they simply dragged for one month with no proper story. Moreover they are Mauli flip-flop, unrelatable to us... What was the need for this?

I know that still Mauli is her to decide. But I will now feel really bad for both fandoms ,no matter whomsoever she chooses.

Reason for memory loss track is very simple. Writers knew they couldn't finish this season without showing Kunal suffering at all. Without his Karma. For the first post leap episode they never showed Kunal guilty about anything or regretting it . Writers had to do something. The only way Kunal could feel the pain , jealous on insecurity over Mauli is if he lost his memory and forgot about Nandini. Because only that Kunal loves Mauli. Real Kunal only loves Nandini. Hence to give viewers some sadistic pleasure and some pleasure of seeing Kunal suffer they introduced this track . They had to do something.

1) a role reversal of mauli and kunal and to show the contrast between both characters and their take on ema and their behaviour during ema phase..

mauli was blind in love and never doubted kunal.. not even nandini as she had faith in her relationships. but here kunal is doing jasoosi..

mauli was told by zillions of people that there is something wrong cooking up between kunal nandini but she chose not to doubt her relations.. whereas kunal had no solid reasons to doubt mauli and he has started taunting mauli way before.. 🥱

2) contrast between ishaan and kunal..

here we have ishaan whose fiance is living with her ex and there are more reasons for him to get annoyed, doubt mauli and leave her side than kunal's reasons to doubt mauli but we see kunal spying on mauli..

ishaan says he loves mauli, kunal says he cant love anybody else than mauli.. but the fact is kunal has already ditched mauli.. his love seems so fake.. !

3) ishaan's faith and his not giving up attitude, his standing by mauli's side..

had it been kunal he had ran aqay way back.. just like he ran away when nandini happened to him. rather than facing the imaginary problems in his married life he ran away. he didnt try enough..

but ishaan has always faced problems in his relationship with mauli. from day 1 but he is still there by her side..

its says a lot..

his character is developed to some another level..

he is so mauli.. he is kind, he is helpful, he is submissive but above all he is a trying his best, he is trying more than enough..!

4) to show " what if mauli had a chance to re live moments with kunal?" ,

to show "does she still love kunal?"

to show "what if he again becomes pehle wala kunal?"

to rekindle their romance..

can love happen twice?? and that too for people like mauli??

has she actually moved on??

it is a testing time for mauli and ishaan.. and i guess both have passed by flying colors..

to show the reality of life where elders only think of their family and compromise with situations and morals..

Kunal never got his karma.

Nandinii dying is not his karma.Pari growing up alone is just part and parcel of life . She isn't entitled to getting Mauli as her mom just because she's a motherless child. Even Mauli deserves to be with someone who loves her more than anyone else in the world. She deserves to be someone's priority, not someone's second option.
