Kunal's repention was never shown post leap, he was still in Nandini jaap. He still is. But mauli wasn't really able to move on then. I mean she went through such hell of a break up, and women do get scared to get committed to a relation the second time.

Now, the ML track looks like it was brought only to show Kunal go through at least half the pain mauli went through during the ema. Coz now he forgot Nandini and his attention is only on mauli. So he would feel the pain of a loved one falling out of love with him and falling in love with someone else.

but where are we even seeing that, writing doesn't seems to be like that.

all i notice is people saying they just want Kunal to go away. So where is the writing for the purpose of Kunal redemption. It actually looks opposite. Like i see comments now that even post leap Kunal that people had issues with was more bearable for them.

I have a different perspective. I think this track served another purpose. To develop Ishaan and Mauli's relationship. The ML track finally developed Ishaan's character. His sacrificing nature was portrayed in this track, his unconditional love for Mauli was shown in this track. Before ML track, MauHaan weren't developed. This track really developed the relationship between them.

Redemption doesn't mean that he say sorry and reconcile with mauli right? He should accept that what he did to her was wrong. But he would never accept that his love for Nandini was wrong.coz thats the whole gist of the story line. So with memory loss he would at least understand what Mauli went through when a partner in a very good marriage goes away to get closer to someone else
