I know as kids we all have tasted one or more slaps but now children are more sensitive...earlier families were big, siblings were more in number and parents were not that attentive to their kids because household chores and financial work was not easy before...
But now we live in a different world, problems can't be solved by beating your kid, your neighbours can report you, children can leave home and can be traumatised forever.
what she done was wrong like hell and she should be punished but not like you mentioned...I may be wrong but i don't support raising hand on children.

You are suggesting an ideal world with ideal human beings. Sorry, but it does not work that way. Psychological issues were always there; its just the we're aware of them today.

And let me tell you, children are never traumatised by beatings when they know it's for a good reason. Children are not robots; they have enough instinct and intellect to tell the right from the wrong in basic matters.

Also, it is not possible to raise a child without ever raising hand even ONCE. I haven't met not heard of anybody (this includes young parents of today with little kids) who never hit their children even once. Kids routinely get beaten up even today; and they don't get traumatised because of it.

And please remember what Mishti has done is NOT normal child misbehaviour.

and @mages girl i didnt expect u to agree to such statements..
this comment has shocked me to the core..

raising hand on kids is no big deal.. we all must have gotten some slaps. but what u have written is extreme..

I don't support this...but i have got beaten up in my childhood..how can u say i support this..never...i won't hit my kid but yes mom did beat me for doing something nasty...she just slap me but than after a while she loved me...she had tears and advise me...what i did was nasty and it should not be repeated at all...i thank her for the advise...its my experience i shared...we all had got at least beaten up once in life by our parents but at the same the warmth of their hug and love made us forget the beat and after the experience we learn life lessons...

nowadays kids are rebel...we shoukd handle them carefully...beating them...hitting them..i never support it at all...parenting have different techniques what our parents used for us will not work on our kids...

yaar don't MU...mom once in a lifetime hit taught me a good lesson and made me a human...its not the hit that made me a human...its the warmth n hug that she gave me and the tears that flow from her eyes made me a person i am now...i can't thank her enough

i fully support giving tight slaps to kids when they dont listen.. thats a different thing i m an unmarried girl and havent ever hit a kid .
but that doesnt mean i am questioning people how can they slap kids. no!!

but saying "maar maar k chamadi udhed deni chahei " and ... read that line again.
its not a personal view..
its actually a crime..

Maunal n Mauhaan should never raise their hands on kids..they should sit down and counsel her...assurance that she is loved and most important person in their lives...she is not neglected nor unwanted...she is loved...
hitting and beating will not work...what work on us will not work on our kids...generation has changed...

I know what I've written. And I stand by it. Any child who attempts anything like Mishti did today, will get a sound thrashing from their parents.

I know that for a fact.

Kavyaa: I don't think divorce can be compared. Staying in a marriage for the sake of your children is OK in some cases where the spouses become close again. But in other cases it might backfire.

If children do normal mischief, then they can be scolded and let off. But in cases where they do serious harm to others, they need physical disciplining. Otherwise the society will end up breeding more and more delinquents and criminals.

Mages: 'Chamdi utar deni chahiye' is actually the literal Hindi translation of a Bengali saying 'mere chhal chamra tule debo'. Ask any Bengali person, it was a very popular saying by parents and elders in our childhood. It's not to be taken in literal sense. It's a saying which means "will give a sound thrashing/beating".
No actual skinning is involved here, lol.

Agreed she has done a very brutal thing but beating her the way you have written is what i am opposing here.

Her body should ache in pain and chamdi utar jana chahiye are such harsh words for kids...ma baap bachchon ko marte honge but ek ya do slap marte hai aur wo bhi bachcha imitate karna seekh jata hai apne se chhote siblings ya friends ko mar kar..
