There was absolutely no reason for Kunaal to stray from the marriage as has been reiterated by the cvs themselves... He had no identity crisis, no glitches in his life and therefore something like this would have been a delight to witness...

If the story went like what I have wrote, it would make kunal cheating more easier to understand for cv's as it would explain that why he cheated despite there being no problems in his marriage with mauli and despite the fact he claimed he loved her so much; because of this feeling to want to protect nandini due to sympathy and as to a certain extent he found her vulnerability endearing, as well feeling that he and nandini share some sort of common ground, which would show that kunal's decision was impulsive out of emotions, as he never thought about whether nandini as a life partner is right for him or whether in the long run he could live a happy and satisfied life with her that he actually already had with mauli. Essentially he went after something he didn't already have, making the reasons for his cheating even more vain.
