The writers have been rightfully criticized for injecting God into this disgusting affair, sanctioning kundani lust as divine love. But we know there have been denials from said writers that they are not glorifying the sin of adultery. Yet their words ring hollow. I present the current track of the other woman, thirsty side chick, sacrificing their eternal, divine love so the cheater husband can settle for a loveless marriage with wife and child as an example. What exactly is the message here? The affair is exciting. He will always dream of it. The mistress is pure, 🤢a saint sacrificing her true love. They have only amplified the affair, presenting it as pure love. The marriage in contrast is seen as a noose around these lovers necks. The wife is the harpie who can only keep the man by burdening him with their child. I will be surprised if kunalji doesn't say to nandani

: woe but it was a baby with you I wanted not mauli😕 Just tell me how this doesn't elevate this sick, immoral affair as pure and divine?
I would also like to know why the wife has to be painted as so clingy and resistant to her own future happiness by taking back such a man whom she knows does not love her. I would think all those supporters whining about the regressive nature of the storyline in regards to nandani would also now cry out just as vociferously about the regressive nature in which the wife is presented.
If any character has a chance to be shown as independent and strong, it's mauli. She is financially independent, has familial support, is beautiful and strong. If the writers really wanted to be original, bold and progressive, presenting this character as strong would have been the perfect opportunity. Mauli moving on with her life, getting counseling and finding and thriving in a new life WOULD have been truly bold.
But this shit, it's typical drivel..

Take heart though, supporters of righteousness, today's mistress is tomorrows wife, looking behind her bare exposed back at the New side chick👏

Brilliantly put...this is actually all the grievance i have with the show... Glorification of the affair in every step of the way was and is still the major gripe of the audience...
Like I said in another post Mauli for me was the epitome of the modern educated woman of today who could take on a Rajdeep single handedly and was a woman with great strength of character... I dont understand the point of her character being watered down to the current Mauli... Why does she want to cling on to the worthless waste of space of her husband?... She deserves way better ...

@bold... exactly... That should have been ideal... Didnt they get decent viewership during the revelation and Mauli's dialogues were lauded... Its actually frustratung to see and even read the WU of such an amazing character being diluted for reasons known to only the cvs...
As for KUNAN they are irredeemable, and all the drama elicits zilch sympathy for Nandini and only elevates the digust we feel for Kunaal ... I have truly never seen a worse Male lead... How is a character like him even a lead is my question...

This show is still in one-month period until the divorce is formally done.
It's is Kottary style. She shows the lead to hold onto their past and the influence it wields on them in one or the other form. But she definitely shows them strong after that phase in which they emerge strong. I don't think that's glorifying or demeaning but I call it a phase which takes time to pass. It is easier said then done about moving on quickly. But only the actual person knows the plight. Anandi took a hell lot to break lose of her past with jagiya before she truly fell for Shiv, but she didn't choose Jagiya over Shiv ever.

Earlier with the divine thing, even I used to feel that they are justifying it, but now I see from a different persective that now they are not.

Mauli too is a flawed character with hope that earlier brought best of her and now is bringing most vulnerable side of her.

Even modern women aren't vary of emotionl nature of relationships.

If Mauli is being shown to be like that, then there is still Mauli who is holding her ground firm. Kunal was always her need from the first episode. But she won't accept him as this man, since this is not her Kunal. To be a Mauli who we all want to see, she has to kill the old self who was completed by Kunal and for that she needs to be pushed beyond everything she latches on to at the moment.

The show has covered a very realistic side which I have encountered in some cases in reality.

Now, I am gonna wait for the divorce. If Mauli signs it then, I am gonna continue watching, otherwise I am likely to quit happily. If she breaks lose even after the baby thing, she will emerge out to be moving in real terms. If Mauli is Kottary's dream character, then she will turn her Anandi way for sure.

Even if they show Kunal-Nandini marry, then it won't be surprise to me since that happens in reality, but such marriage in itself have a lot of complications of their own which i hope they manage to show.

Chirpihapibird:
Small correction. I didn't slander anybody. Just pointed out some horrifically misogynistic comments that the TM had made in another thread. Not my problem if the person couldn't take legitimate criticism and started attacking me in a hysterical manner.

Not one of the arguments I offered were rebutted in a logical, sane manner. Anyway, no problem for me since I loved the entertainment 😆

As for this thread, there's practically nothing to debate on. The show had been glorifying extra-marital affairs for the last two months.

A sad fact of EMA is that the betrayed wife suffers tremendous self esteem loss . Her husband wants another woman. Often these women don't see their cheating husbands for what they are ...immoral selfish people who have no regard for the feelings of others apart from their own desires. Rather these women feel that they are lacking in something. They don't see their worth ..that they are educated beautiful , wonderful women who have so much to offer..rather they want to hold onto those cheating husbands . Often these wives only finally leave their cheating husbands forever when the husbands have had multiple affairs and they realise that these men are not going to change, . But I think the makers should show Mauli to be different ..they should show her to be strung, leave Kunal and start a new life without him. Even if she has a baby..they should show that she can move on..because that's the message that needs to come across for women..that eve; if their marriages fail because theur husbands had affairs, they can still rebuild their lives and move on.

I agree indira. I have thought mauli is in shock. Shes numb. I thought she needed to see those two cheaters romancing to get actually accept the reality. The loss of a marriage is tantamount to death. There are stages of grieving one must go through. But finally comes accepance.
Its understandable for the wife to suffer low self esteem. But if family and friends and even stranngers can be supportive she can find her way. Every woman deserves to be the only one. In this show mauli would be the perfect example of a woman surviving and thriving. Disgusting ly I dont tjink we viewers will get this satisfaction. A real shame
