So, here's my story of how my journey with Shrimad Ramayan started...

When I first saw the ad, it was towards the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024. I was sick at that time and wasn't really up for following another serial... Quite unlike me to let go of watching Ramayan... Later, I glanced at promos and ads in the passing, felt the pull but didn't watch them either. There were ads for the translated versions as well but didn't settle for watching them either...

More than half a year passed...

Somehow I ended up listening to the title track. That captured me into this serial. The visuals were beautiful and I thought I could check out a little bit... I was browsing through bits and I ended up watching the scene of Bharat's sorrow on Dasarath's passing. The scene tugged my heartstrings, especially when he was trying to convince Sumitra and Kaushalya, and I decided to watch the series. When I was checking out bits of the series, the story was near Sita's kidnapping. I guess I started following the series at about this time.

First impression: visuals were awesome, music was amazing and the the actors were quite good.

By the way, I ended up watching the series in multiple languages... (I know, ,I am crazy >.<)

How about you all? Anyone watching it in more than one language?

i am watching in hindi but i have watched the wedding track in bengali as well

I loved the promo of the show. But started watching the show mid way from the Meghu track and joined this forum.I found Sujay Reu perfect choice for the role of Lord Ram. smiley9smiley10Even Bharat and Lakshman played their part well. But didn't like the girl playing Seeta. smiley21Seeta in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan was far better.Sorry for the comparison.I felt lil disappointed as Meghnad died even though he was evil.He was too young for the role of Ravan's son.The experience had been good Until the UK.As of now only reading the episode update.smiley14

Well his end wasn't done as expected

Bas aise hi maara gaya

Two scenes of his were done well

Naagpash and shakti baan

But the makers didn't show meghu trying to life behosh lakshman

It would hv looked better that he was trying to lift sheshnaag

What was the first impression?

Well ,I watched the first short clip on Sony TV( that came on my feed randomly) when Lakshman was angry before the arrival of Bharat in Chitrakoot. He was surprised and then angry. My first sighting of the male protagonist was when he was meditating and then the conversation between the brothers takes place .I was disappointed with the casting of the males. The girl looked pretty as a ceramic doll but lacked strong presence for me.I felt that that the actor playing Rama was lacklustre in looks and demeanor

Before people started bashing me here ,let me say ,to love an actor ,u have to be with them from the beginning .Maybe that was why I was not impressed.

My second random clip was Sita Swayamvar and the scene when Ramayan picks up the bow like a flower. And Boy !! was I blown away! specially the bgm ,sound of wind ,the pause and then the actual lift. For the first time ,I looked at the male protagonist in a new light. The princely outfit, radiant and dazzling face , affectionate large eyes, great hair , calm demeanor mesmerized me as an audience. For the first time ever ,I thought that the casting was on point. Then I happened to watch the episodes from the beginning and absolutely fell in love with the introduction of the main leads ,their respective songs,Mr Reu and Mr.Dheer's acting and the costumes and jewellery ( though they were modern ).Swastik always is extremely bang on with their ost and bgm. But I absolutely abhorred their artificial sets and vfx from the start .The great impression of the series remained the same with me till episode 60.The best parts..Because diversion was comparitively less from the epic.Kishkindha kand was ok but the vfx went from bad to worse and it continued before the death of Ravana. It became loads better for the ultimate face off.Only thing that tied me to the series was the male lead effortless acting and that strong presence.

Thank you for the thread Vibhishan ji

Congratulations to the entire team for completing one successful year smiley32

For the first few months this show was actually good and mostly accurate.

I watched the show from first episode itself just to give a try but Sujay's entry episode made me hooked to it.

Even Mr.Reu said that his favourite scene was his entry .I watched the bts and he looked absolutely radiant .More as compared to the reel entry. He did comment that he cannot believe he was the one standing there. It gave him goosebumps. He also said that the whole credit goes to the cameraman and lighting people who shot it at impressive angles really flattering his looks. If we look closely ,Mr.Reu in real life looks a decent looking person .His tall height could be a reason why people would give him a second glance in real.life.But as the character ,he slayed and he looked so fresh during the initial episodes that audience ( specially the female audience)would just be enthralled and mesmerized.

I tried to watch in other language when again it was randomly shown in TV but the dubbing was horrible ,the songs by the language artists were shrill ,off pitch and it caused so much pain in my ears that I immediately stopped trying that stunt.

Absolutely. Some languages retain original music, some change the lyrics...

At times it's beautiful and other times it's a disaster...

And theoretically and grammatically... It's a mess... I can say that for sure for at least one of the translations...

Two of the languages have off-tune singing, one almost always and the other once in a while.

But... The voice artists have done a good job. Those voicing the characters... Some of them are really good and others are pretty good. I thought it would be fun to watch in different languages but the dreadful bits were painful smiley19

If anyone is interested, Sun Network telecast dubbed version of Shrimad Ramayan in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. They have started telecasting in the morning as well but it's a bit behind the evening telecast.

Sony uploads the Bengali version just like the Hindi ones.
