Part 7

Rajat Sareen was driving towards the hospital. He did not know what he would be telling Anushka...and how, but nevertheless he had too. He had got an unexpected golden opportunity and he couldn't miss it. He had ofcourse given ample of hints to her about his love for her...but somehow this engagement ceremony just drowned everything. Today, he was ready to confess his love for her...once and for all. He did not know whether this was the correct moment to profess his feelings, but any more delay was undesirable in the present situation. The more he drove towards the hospital, the more anxious and nervous he got. Strange are the ways of life. He had never felt scared or nervous while driving a fighter plane, but today when he was driving down to his lady love he was panicking.

She was sitting in the hospital corridor all by herself, recollecting the events over the past two days. Things were going too fast for any realisation. Firstly, she had the miserable feeling of losing her love. Secondly, her dear Peeya was injured due to the accident. Thirdly, the engagement was cancelled...it was just too much to take in. She was exhausted and closed her eyes for a while. Amidst all these, she was confused...just prior to the start of the engagement ceremony, Rajat had given her a strange look...very strange indeed. She couldn't explain any emotions behind it. She quickly opened her eyes and realised that such thoughts were uncalled for. Very soon her younger sister would be engaged to him and she had to control her emotions...she reminded herself. The question was how?...

The car came to stop in front of the hospital. It was quite late night, and there was a deserted look. He started walking towards the entrance. She could feel his presence close by, she turned around and saw him standing. Secretly, she pinched herself, was this some dream? If it was then God help her...but no it wasn't. He was standing there in person...she couldn't believe it. Why on Earth did he come here at the dead of the night??

He quickly enquired about Peeya...seemed more of a formality at this moment...and went to his point. His career with defence had taught him not to waste time. He had infact some precious moments with Anushka before, not confessing his love...and he was about to pay a heavy price for that. "I want to talk to you Anushka...urgently...right now...and whether you want or not...you must listen. First and foremost I must tell you...though I should have done this long before...that you are the only woman I have ever loved"...without gauging her feelings or allowing her to say anything he proceeded "I was clueless about my engagement with Devyani...I thought it was you whom I was getting engaged to, hence I agreed. I know you love me too and I have no idea when and how this misunderstanding took place...but once this has happened, we must get over it and clear the airs as soon as possible. Tomorrow, I shall clear this in front of both our families"

There was a pin drop silence. She stood there numb. She had mixed feelings...didn't know what to say. Rajat looked at her expecting some reactions, but she stood still...like a stone figure. He continued to speak again "Will you be there when I break the news tomorrow...or shall I do it alone?"

And just when he was expecting something different, she spoke up...her voice sounded tired..."You shall not do anything of this sort at all"

i will personally kill anu , if she tries to sacrifice for her selfish and *living in her own dreamworld * sister ...
anu is spoiling her life and is throwing away her chance at happiness and also being unjust to rajat
she cannot force rajat to get engaged to devyani... he deserves to love and be loved ...and she cannot expect him to keep aside his wishes for devyani...
so its time anu uses logic over emotions and realises what she is losing with her stubbornness
