Trying to write a quick review on last night's episode of SI……..
Yes, it was another day, another successful episode with another new story- evidence based, emotionally connecting & inspiring having tremendous social relevance…
A real eye-opener, addressing a very insensitive & nasty practice of a particular community in some particular part of India, where a father does not work to earn for the family. His daughter is the source of income. He does not feel guilty to dishonour her dignity by bidding her. Such an outrageous act! The life of a girl child in that community is definitely a bane for her own self.
It was a heart touching story of Kalpana & her daughter Meera. Kalpana, a woman of substance raised her voice against the prevailed nasty system of bidding daughters in her community & tried her best to save her younger daughter Meera's life by taking her away from home & make it dignified with all possible ways, but at last she had to pay for it. In the mean while, her husband searched her & took away her life. Then he tried to make Meera's life hell. But Meera's elder sister, who was a victim of the system, helped her in escaping from home& going to the Navjyot Ashram. On her way, she met the founder of the Ashram GuruDas, who was also from the same community, but was dead against that nasty system helping the escaped girls by adopting them in his Ashram providing them safety with the help of the police. But still misfortune didn't leave Meera. One day her father attacked the Ashram with his gang and Meera had to shoot her father in order to save herself……..
The USP of the episode was the on-screen appearance of the real life hero- GuruDas, which was a privilege hearing some inspiring words from him at the end.
But we shouldn't forget the charismatic effect of Mr. Mohnish Bahl as the presenter of the show making it fantastically fabulous!!!!!👏
