Heylo lovely people. :)

Note: I have typed down my views regarding the show. I am sorry if I have hurt anyone's sentiments. Solely my perception. :)

So, the show has marked its beginning today with a heart wrenching episode on the topic "Killing of a girl child."

We came to know about some shocking truths from today's episode. It is a practice followed nevertheless which century we are living in. Girl child was unsafe, is unsafe and if such ruthless people are left free without being punished then a girl child will remain unsafe.

I always thought that this practice was followed by the people living in the smaller cities and mostly illiterates and poor people would be the cause of it. But the truth was even more shocking. It was started by the literate, high class people living in metro cities!

The even more shocking thing for me was when the doctor said that this practice was actually started in the government hospitals by the doctors appointed by the government. The people who are supposed to protect us are the ones who are taking the lives, just for the sake of few bucks!

Even the judges encourage this stuff by saying this is NOT a crime and the Indian Penal Code does not mention any punishment regarding this crime? Seriously?

That has to be the most shocking and disgusting truth.

I am glad and thankful to the team of Satyamev Jayate for working so much on an issue and shedding a light on them. This show brings you the REAL face of India.

This show gives us a REAL meaning of a REALITY SHOW.

I always trust Aamir Khan in whatever he does and I am glad he didn't prove me wrong, EVER!
I pray to god to keep everyone, [born and unborn] safe from the beasts dwelling in our societies in the name of a Human!

Do share your views regarding the show, I would love to read them.
Stay Blessed.

Bushra.

I agree and like you even I was under impression that feticide usually happens by uneducated people in rural areas. I had no idea it was actually the opposite. In fact, in my world history class few years back my teacher was portraying India as the country performing female infanticide (I mean she was literally giving out that image of India) and I got so mad that I was like noo it doesn't...it might it rural areas but it doesn't happen in urban and certainly doesn't like it used to...but to my surprise, I was most shocked when I learned that the ratio has been increasing with each passing year!😲

I seriously thought the ratio was decreasing and I can't believe that instead of decreasing, it has been increasing.

And ofcourse on how govt. themselves are responsible for this and STILL support it?😲 I don't know whether to laugh or cry for this but it surely is shameful. And another thing that surprised me was that there were female doctors who were supporting this crime. It's just ridiculous.

I just hope that people realize that killing anyone because of gender preference is wrong, and should just consider it a blessing to be a parent/grand-parent of child regardless of it being a boy or a girl.

It is really disheartening to see India being shown in a bad light but as much as we all hate to agree to this, it is the fact. The most shocking thing was the literates following this practice. I mean, we are living in a same society where a girl is looked as equals to the boys and on the other hand they are being ruthlessly killed. How ridiculous can this get?
That lady doctor had a a heart to say you can bury the child wherever possible? Forget about her being a doctor, she is a woman, she must be a mother as well, how can she think of killing someone else' child?
They said the fetus can be drowned in the Yamuna river... How heartless people can get? 😲

Not only the govt is supporting them, it is encouraging them by PROMOTING such doctors.

I liked the lady whose clip they showed in the end, the woman who lives on the footpath, she and her husband (though initially he wasn't much happy it seems) were happy about their girl child, and the way she said, we wouldn't do such crime of killing a baby based on her gender.

The literates and so called rich people should take a lesson from her.

nopes...I totally knew this was the deed of perfectly well educated rich elites...trust me people u need to have big connections to be able to do this...u need to have insiders in hospitals u need to know doctors who would help u in all this behind the curtains...small poor rural people...where would they get the damned contacts or the freaking money for all this?...one sex determination test even though a mere ultra sound costs u thousands because it is done secretly...poor people cant afford all that...they don't have enough means or time or energy to be able to get two decent meals per day..plus these people r way too God fearing...they won;t indulge into all this...moreover if they really want to do this...they would jsut rather beat up their wives and make her have a miscarriage instead of doing all this...sounds horrible but thats a fact...so ya I knew this whole thing is more the leisure of the privileged...the thing is most educated people r educated only and only in name...they have just crammed the books learnt how to speak English and perfectly imitated the Western life style to show off their status their broad mindedness.but form within they are worse than illiterates...education is education only when its taken in the right spirit otherwise its exploitation...

I know and that is why the theme song of this show touched me so much...especially the part of why hide if there is a daag, just accept and try to change it by changing yourself. And Aamir isn't asking anything but to change yourself and your thoughts if anyone is supporting it.

And I know right? Here we are talking about so-called girl rights and there we are killing them and selling them. You know, I loved how he connected out present acts to what might happen in future and the future unfortunately is present. In fact just recently there was this huge case about baby falak naa...you might have heard how her mother was sold like this and she was sold in rajasthan where those people from the villages of this state said it happens. It's just sad how people can so easily disrespect women and then claim to love them.

As for those female doctors, more than mother, they were daughters...wouldn't it ever cross their mind that what if their parents had killed them before they were born? It's just disgusting and feel ashamed that they are doctors.

And oh I liked that clip too. Those people live in huts, but are still more sensible and matured than so called "educated" people who perform feticide. Agree, these educated people should take lesson from them.

Woman's biggest disrespect comes from women themselves...till date most MOST women in India educated or not consider a male child to be THE end it all be it all...many of the would be mothers themselves go in for this test and they themselves consent to abortion if the sex is girl...so ya its not just men its women too and many many MANY women at that...

what was shocking for me was to know that in the 70s government itself introduced this thing so as to curtail population...I mean how in the name of hell could they?..Were they htis blind? Didn't they know what kind of a poison they were leashing out?...Ok even in China there are strict norms of faily planning and I heard cases like families who had more than one children were imprisoned or heavily punished...and I get that they had to do this because hell its of utmost importance to curtail population...if we have to survive we NEED to cut down our population...so I get it...at least China's policy wasn't this ghastly where it clearly said ki remove all girl child and keep all boy child...all they did was one fmaily one child boy or girl doesn't matter which i feel is OK...but this what happened in India...am shocked...I so didn't know government had a role in unleashing this cancer ...

The theme song is so positive and it makes you feel like doing something for the society. Exactly! Aamir is not here to judge anyone or punish anyone...he is just trying to re-ignite the passion, the sensitivity in people. He just contributing a little for a better society.

That was another shocking thing.. People actually buy women? And that lady told how a woman who has been bought is used by the other men of the house, whether she is married to them or not and then they recycle the women. God! What society are we living in? Women have no right to maintain their dignity and self respect.

I don't even trust the Law... I mean the reporters were brave enough to do a sting operation, they have the evidence against the doctors, their statements make it clear, and still the judiciary is encouraging such docs. And the people who have voiced their opinion against this crime are being tortured with the arrest warrants and court trials. How can the judiciary take 7 long years to make a judgment?!

The thought itself sickens me!

What i loved abt this show is the research they did on the subject before going on-air, some of the facts that Aamir shared not only shocked me , they scared me. The thing abt Dr.Meetu's mother-in-law trying to kill her own grand-daughter shocked me to my very core. How can someone who's a woman herself be so inhumane towards those of her own sex??The thing abt rich and educated going for female foeticide is understandable one as it is poor ppl r struggling for food and shelter, where frm r they gonna get money to go for expensive hospitals?

The most shocking thing however is that sting operation tape...that lady doctor who was suggesting to bury the newly born must be thrown in jail for the rest of her life.

I hope Rajasthan Government receives Aamir's letter positively and forms a fast track court and take action against guilty doctors.

Natalie.
