Part 32

Siddhant was clearing his mails in the office...

He got call from Jamanlal...

Siddhant; Uncle.. tell me uncle...

Jamanlal: Siddhant.. today the guy and their parents coming to see Roli formally and finalise the alliance..

Siddhant: oh good...

Jamanlal: Siddhant.. i called Roli and told her to come home early... but she said.. to talk to you and inform about this...

Siddhant: I think Roli is hesitating to ask permission to start early.. no worries.. i will send her early...

Jamanlal: Ok Siddhant.. Thanks...

Siddhant went to Roli cabin...

Siddhant: Roli...

Roli turned her face to hide her tears...

Roli: Yes Sdidhant...

Siddhant: Uncle called you to come home early...

Roli nod her head as acceptance...

Siddhant: you told to talk to me...

Roli: yes.. i told..

Siddhant: But why Roli.. is there any need for you to take permission from me to go early...

Roli: Not that.. i wanted you to know about that...

Siddhant: Hmm.. now i have known about that.. you can start early ok...

Siddhant tried to turn from her...

Roli: Siddhant...

Siddhant turned towards her...

Roli: I wish you too come...

Siddhant: what i will do Roli..

Roli: On that day you said you will stand in the front to arrange my marriage.. now not even ready to come when they are coming...

Siddhant: ok ok. no worries.. i myself will take you home in my car and will be there will you till they return.. ok for you...

Roli: Siddhant.. anything is ok for me.. if you feel ok...

Siddhant: Roli.. why i should feel ok in this...

Roli: Siddhant.. complete the works so that we can start early...

Siddhant: ok...

Siddhant went back to his cabin...

He was thinking about those words again...

But he cant understand.. what it means...

But in a while.. he was into the work...

After couple of hours...

Siddhant looked at the time...

Siddhant got up and took his bag...

Siddhnat went to Roli cabin...

Siddhant: Roli.. shall we leave...

Roli: Sure..

Roli & Siddhant started from office towards Roli's house...

Roli & Siddhant reached home...

jamanlal: Welcome Siddhant..

Siddhant: Uncle as i said.. i bring Roli home on time...

Jamanlal smiled...

Meena; Roli.. get ready.. they will be reaching shortly...

Meena took Roli to her room...

She gave a nice saree and some jewellery which she purchased for her marriage...

Meena: Roli.. fresh up yourself and wear this saree.. then these jewelleries too..

Roli didn't reply... She went to fresh up herself...

Meena went to kitchen to prepare sweet & dishes...

Siddhant was talking to Jamanlal...

Roli fresh up and changed to saree...

She put those jewelleries...

She looked herself in the mirror...

Now she heard the talking sounds from the hall...

She realised they have come...

Introduction were happening mutually...

Siddhant was introduced as best friend...

Roli gave a dry smile looking at the mirror hearing that...

Jamanlal: Meena.. bring Roli...

Siddhant: Aunty.. you distribute dishes.. i will bring Roli...

Siddhant got up and went to Roli room...

Siddhant as soon as entering into the room...

Siddhant: Wow Roli.. you are looking different and beautiful in this saree & dressing...

Roli was thinking.. what is the use when the dressing is not done for you...

Siddhant; i think the guy wont take his eyes from you...

Roli gave a weird smile...

Roli: You are liking it right...

Siddhant: Yes of course...

Roli: That is enough for me..

Siddhant: Lets go... All are waiting for you...

Siddhant took Roli to the hall...

She did 'Namasthe' to all...

The guy was introduced as 'Shankar'.. who is working in US...

Now he has come for holidays...

Shankar mother: you are aware.. we already liked Roli.. As they both need to see each other.. we came here today.. now my son has come on holidays.. i wish we arrange marriage immediately so that he can go back with Roli getting married...

Jamanlal: We are ready for that.. we can see the next auspicious day and can proceed with the marriage...

They started talking about the marriage arrangments...

Roli was feeling restless on hearing all these...

Roli with corner of eyes was looking at Siddhant...

Siddhant was sitting and hearing whatever they were talking as if he is top interested than anyone else...

Roli was thinking.. Siddhant.. did you heard what they told...

He will be taking me to US getting married...

Can you be away from me...

Can you be away from this Roli...

Am i nothing to you..

Its one way good.. getting married to someone and living in front of your eyes is most horrible...

Now this is something like i will be somewhere away from you...

But still Siddhant... how can i...

Roli got tears on her eyes...

She hide the tears to scroll on her eyes...

Siddhant noticed that...

Siddhant express like 'what'...

Roli expressed like 'nothing...

The discussions came to conclusion...

They contacted pandit and the marriage was fixed on 10 days...

All were happy about getting marriage fixed as per their wish...

Other than Roli who was crying badly inside the heart...

That weekend...

Jamanlal & Meena decided to go for shopping...

Roli called Siddhant...

Roli: Siddhant.. come home..

Siddhant: Come home.. now...

Roli: Yes.. we are going for shopping... i wish you too be there...

Siddhant: Marriage shopping.. ok.. coming in few minutes...

In a while...

Siddhant reached Roli house...

All the 4 started for purchasing...

They reached the shopping center...

They went to lehenga section..

They started seeing for Roli...

When Meena showed her some dress...

She denied to select it...

When Jamanlal showed some dress...

She denied that too...

When Siddhant showed her some dress...

Siddhant: Roli.. this will be nice on you...

Roli without even looking at the lehenga accepted it...

Siddhant; Good.. pack this...

He gave to shop keeper...

Then they went to purchase engagement ring...

They were not having Shankar size...

Jamanlal: we are not knowing the size... what to do now...

Siddhant: Dont worry uncle..lets buy in my size.. i think it will fit him...

Siddhant put the ring on his hand...

He selected a beautiful ring...

Roli gave a dry smile...

Roli was thinking.. Siddhant.. i want to purchase this ring itself for you while you are buying for him in your size.. very funny...

Meena noticed dull face of Roli...

After they completed the shopping...

They returned home...

Roli just went to her room...

Meena went near Siddhant...

Meena; Siddhant.. did you noticed Roli is very dull...

Siddhant: yes aunty..i noticed that.. i dont know why she is dull..

Meena: I think you talk to her to find what is disturbing her...

Siddhant: Ok Aunty.. i will talk to her...

Siddhant went to Roli room...

Roli was standing near the window looking outside...

Siddant went near her...

Siddhant: Roli.. is there anything disturbing you...

Roli: what can disturb me Siddhant.. you are happy with all these purchases right.. that is enough...

Siddhant: what is this talk Roli.. its your marriage.. your wish & happiness is more important..why are you telling my happiness.. my feel about all these...

Roli: Only that much i was able to tell Siddhant...

Siddhant: i dont get you Roli...

Roli: Siddhant you are happy right.. your friend marriage is fixed... you are happy right.. i am becoming bride.. you are happy right i am getting married to.. what is his name...

She think for a while...

Roli: Yes.. Shankar.. you are happy right that he is taking me to US.. you are happy right i wont be anymore in your life..

Siddhant swiftly lift his face to look at her when she said anymore in your life...

Roli: This Roli who was part of your life since birth is no more part of your life.. i will be parting from you completely... i will be going away once for all... you are happy right...

Siddhant was standing speechless..

Roli: What can i do.. when everyone is ok with these arrangements.. what can i do when you too are happy with all these.. i got nothing to do.. then what else i can tell you...

Siddhant felt like the words were hitting his heart to the core...

Roli: Dont worry Siddhant.. i will marry Shankar.. i will go to US.. i will live with him.. Then after few years.. will come back with a child too.. are you happy now... happy right..

Siddhant down his face and closed his eyes...

Roli: You took my acceptance for marriage... you gave my acceptance to my parents.. you took me to make me stand in front of him.. you selected my bridal dress.. you selected my engagement ring.. When you do all these for me.. then what else i got to tell you.. you are happy right...

Siddhant: Roli.. are you not interested in this marriage...

Roli: Siddhant.. i am repeating the same.. if you feel this marriage is ok.. if you feel happy.. if you feel this is my life.. i am very well ok for it...

Siddhant got no reply...

Siddhant got up and came out of her room...

Siddhant went to Bharatwaj house...

Siddhant went home and started thinking...

Each & every word of Roli was repeating on his mind...

Siddhant started thinking about it deeply...

he was restless..

he was unable to come to any conclusion...

he didn't contacted Roli...

It was engagement day of Roli...

All gathered in a function hall where engagement was arranged...

Roli was getting ready...

Siddhant came little late with her family members to the hall...

His face was looking dull...

Jamanlal: Siddhant.. you are coming late today.. that too on your friend engagement day.. go.. see your friend..

Siddhant gave a smile and moved to Bride room where Roli was there...

Roli lift her face & looked at siddhant hearing the door sound...

Roli got up and looked at mirror...

Roli: Siddhant.. am i ok in this dress to get engaged with that Shankar... are you happy...

Siddhant didn't replied...

Roli: Tell me.. tell me... i have always told if you are ok & happy then it is ok for me.. then why are you silent now...

He didn't replied...

Roli went near him...

Roli: look at me naa Siddhant.. am i good in this lavender color dress...

She showed her dress holding it...

Roli: Then you saw this matching jewellery...

She showed her ear ring...

Roli: this colorful bangles...

She showed her bangles...

Roli: Its all matching & looking good right...

He just looked at her.. but doesn't respond...

Roli: you remember Siddhant.. even this dress & jewelleries were purchased by you only for my last birthday.. do you atleast remember this...

Siddhant down his face...

Roli: Why are you dull today when you were excited about my marriage with some one all these days.. you were running here & there to get it arranged.. now when everything is going out of hold.. why looking dull now...

Siddhant: Roli...

Roli: Siddhant.. i thought you know me better.. i know you better.. i was wrong.. totally wrong.. we were only just together.. without even knowing each other...

She took deep breathe...

Roli: We were just studying together.. we were just doing social activities together right..

he looked into her eyes.. which was filled with tears...

Roli: We got nothing more than that... now even nothing more can be there... are you happy now...

That is when Meena entered into the room...

Meena: Roli are you ready...

Roli: Yes maaji.. i am very much ready..

Meena: Then lets go.. all are waiting...

Roli: Yes maaji.. i am coming...

Roli turned towards Meena and started taking steps...

Siddhant was looking towards the way she was going...
