that book may not exist but i would like to read some book like this that is written for me 😉
nd di one doubt..is sid seeing roli for the first time when all her books fell down?nd does that mean that more than one week passed after their first meet?? i know that i'm asking stupid questions...bt u know wat, i'm a big question bank 😉 my frnds as well as teachers r fed up of me nd nw i'm troubling u also...bt u have to bear with me :P

THE PROPHECY - PART 5

FLASHBACK CONT'D
COFFEE SHOP - AFTERNOON
Siddhant takes up an empty table.
Two rows across, Roli and Nisha chat and laugh to glory as they dig into their lunch.
He watches them intently until---
WAITER: What would you like to order, sir?
Siddhant jumps in his chair, startled by the waiter's sudden appearance! He fumbles around for a moment. Lunch was not on his list of priorities when he dropped in.
SIDDHANT: Erm--- erm--- apple juice.
WAITER: Sorry sir. We don't have apple juice.
SIDDHANT: (in a hurry to get rid of the waiter) Orange juice then.
The waiter hurries off to execute his order. It hardly takes two minutes to reach his table.
Siddhant watches her for a moment before glancing around again. The book said that her life was in danger. And so did the message. But he sees nothing suspicious. Nothing fishy. Everything around them is absolutely sane and normal.
His attention drifts back to Roli again - her eyes are so captivating. The life and excitement in them is breathtaking. He gets lost in thoughts.
If it were not for the book, I probably wouldn't have taken notice of her at all. Is this just co-incidence or destiny?
It takes him a while to realize that he's being watched by Roli for a change. Her deadly glare sends a huge wave of embarrassment surging through him.
SIDDHANT: (mutters to himself) Oh shit...
He quickly looks down and begins to sip on his orange juice.
BUS STOP - EVENING
Siddhant waits at the opposite side of the road, his eyes fixed on Roli and her friend Nisha.
Maybe the Prophecy is not 100% true after all, he thinks, I've been following this girl just to find out the truth of this statement. But so far, nothing unusual has happened. Maybe it's just a hoax. I have no idea what kind of danger she is in. And how am I supposed to save her from it? What if it's an accident or some natural calamity like an earthquake? What am I supposed to do?
Siddhant's eyes wander around to a nearby shop where an athletic man dressed in a white T-shirt, khaki pants and dark goggles stands. The man buys a pack of cigarettes and tucks it into his pocket. He empties a sachet of pan masala into his mouth and begins to chew on it. He looks around casually and slows down on the chewing as he notices Siddhant staring at him.
Siddhant feels oddly uncomfortable at the man's glare and looks away only to be horrified by Roli's deadly stare.
SIDDHANT: (looks away quickly, mutters to himself) Damn---
His chest pounds hard. THUP-THUP-THUP
What the hell, why's that I can't even look at her?
LATER, AT THE BUS STOP NEAREST TO ROLI'S APARTMENT BUILDING
Siddhant reaches the stop before hand and begins to wait for Roli to alight from the bus.
He smiles to himself. This is crazy, he thinks, I've never done anything like this before... tailgating a girl. Eessh! Just imagine the look on my parents face if they come to know about this... silly!
To his surprise, he finds the same man he saw a while ago at the previous stop! He parks his bike away from traffic and lights a cigarette. Siddhant watches him curiously. The man puffs out balls of pungent smoke as he seems to "wait for someone".
Is it the same guy I saw back there, wonders Siddhant curiously. Nah, I'm just being paranoid. May or may not be him, it's probably co-incidence, doesn't mean that he's up to something.
In a moment, the bus carrying Roli approaches the stand. She alights from the vehicle and is pissed off to spot Siddhant yet again!
END OF FLASHBACK SCENE.
Roli slowly flips through the book as she listens to Siddhant's story.
Her brows narrow suspiciously as she goes through the contents of the Prophecy. A book which was apparently picked up from the library I work in... a book which details his life from beginning to the end. Great story, but all what I see is the novel called as The Prophecy. I wonder... either he's making up all of this for some weird reason or something's seriously wrong with him.
SIDDHANT: I know it all sounds crazy. That's what I thought too, but I feel that something is not right. If you don't mind, I would suggest calling for help. The police or something...
Roli looks up at him for a moment with a blank expression and returns her attention to the book.
ROLI: I would suggest the same too.
SIDDHANT: The police?
Roli SLAMS the book shut to mark the end of the conversation.
ROLI: No. The psychiatrist. You need help. Sorry. But you really do.
She pushes the book towards him and gets up. Siddhant is speechless.
ROLI: it's just a novel. Don't get too carried away. By the way, (straps her hand bag over her shoulder) thanks for the concern.
Without another word, she walks out of the coffee shop.
Siddhant is confused now. And hurt! What did she mean? Does she think that I'm crazy? She read the contents of this book and still didn't get it? Can't be!
He hastily opens the book and browses through it. To his dismay, the contents of the Prophecy are no longer what he saw last night! It's just a simple novel written by a less known author.
He flips back and forth furiously.
I swear I wasn't hallucinating. I'm dead sure what I read last night! Every bit of it! But where did it disappear to now? This isn't what I saw! No"no--- I must explain to her. I'm not crazy!
Siddhant gets up and bolts out of the coffee shop with the book. He finds Roli and Nisha take off on a scooty.
SIDDHANT: (frustrated) Dammit!
As he stands there in pure frustration, someone taps him lightly on the shoulder. He turns around and finds --- the man in the white T-shirt standing right behind him.
