Roli got up startled. She dismissed the screaming alarm and cursed the clock for running so fast and started towards the bathroom to get ready.
As usual, she stayed late in the bathroom and eventually got late for her college. "Roli madam, please make a promise that you'll not stay this late in the bathroom", she made a promise to herself.
"Roli, you have no time, fast!!!" she kept on instructing herself while searching for her other earring.
She lost her patience in searching and ended up wearing another one.
She collected her bag and rushed towards the kitchen and rolled up some roti in her hand and started when her mother forced her tiffin box in her other hand and wished her daughter luck.
She waved off to her parents and clutched Gautham's hand in a hurry and ran towards the bus stand when her best friend and classmate Simar was holding the college bus for her.
Luckily for her, Gautham's auto reached the stop the very moment and she waved him off and ran with all her might to the bus and got inside.
Both Roli and the bus started their journey towards the college puffing and panting.
Simar sat next to her and handing her a water bottle, she started, "So Roli, all set for the first day?"
"Haan, Simar. Oh no, I forgot to get a notebook. See, I was checking and re-checking again. But I forgot to add the notebook to my checklist." Saying so, she showed a dull face.
Simar in a comforting tone,"Roli madam, I know you will forget. That's why I have got an extra one".
Simar could Roli's face instantaneously. Simar then added, "You stupid girl, don't you remember? You called me yesterday and told me to get a notebook while I purchased mine. You have become forgetful today. You have become forgetful these days".
Both of them shared a laugh together.
The bus came to a screeching halt due to signal at a four way junction.
