Good evening to all assembled here.It is my pleasure and previlage to be addressing this august gathering on the occasion of the Star Management silver jubilee celebrations. This is the beginning of a series of lectures which is part of this celebration programme. My topic is Attitudes and Behaviour of Good Management Executives
Raman started his lecture .He enunciated the different academic and theoretical aspects of good management and then went on to elaborate.
He had made a list of short points to refer to during his lecture. After the preamble was over he embarked upon the rest of the lecture.
Point one--- All round aspect-- .A good management quality is to have an all round perspective of the matters on hand and then he saw Ishita in a saree preening in front of the mirror getting ready while he slyly glanced at her backside .He smiled at his audience and proceeded to tell them with a little more gusto than required how necessary it is to have eyes at the back of the head to be aware all around.
Point two. It is -- and his thoughts went back to that day when she tricked him and got into the green chilka. Friends you must develop the art of fitting into the parameters set up.Be resourceful and find ways He thought of how Ishita had altered the dress.Ouch! He remembered the needle prick-- his audience looked startled. He raised his hand and waved The ouch away and went on to the next point.
Point three--- Always participate in the interests of your colleagues and employees. He thought of Kadva Chauth when he had kept a Vrat for Ishita and his jaw fell and he was suddenly silent.Yes he went on to say when she is resplendent in red your eyes pop out,he looked at his audience -- what I mean is appreciate those with whom you work like you would admire a b-- beauty he said a little slowly
He went on to the next point -- a little flushed
Now let me tell you you have to be firm, stick to your agenda and exercise your rights democratically not like an -- and he thought of the day when he had acted like an animal with Ishita. He purposely coughed to wipe the memory. And then he thought supposed he had carried out his threat-- he paused , to wipe the slight beads of perspiration which had gathered on his brow--then he went on to say with a manly air-- sometimes by doing the right thing you miss out on the basic thing.
Then came the next point it was to do with transparency Never fight shy come out into the open. That is the best strategy. He recalled how he had peeped at her mending her blouse. He felt a jolt similar to the one when he was caught watching
Next point put your cards on the table- may be not completely but enough to evince interest He found himself recalling - recalling her white shoulders when she wore that off shoulder blouse for the hen party. Then he was reminded of the Eve teasing and more which Ashok and his gang did.He brought his fist down with a thud His audience looked at him. This is to arrest your attention, it was waning, he said with a winning smile
And last but not least he said without referring to his list.never lose the opportunity of -- he paused a moment of holding close - as long as you can-- so what if the opportunity comes disguised in learning - his mind thought about salsa--- he trailed off ---irrespective of anything -- rain, hail, snow, under the influence of drink,to show off,to prove the other wrong.to make someone else jealous, for a game like truth and dare---hold her close-- I mean hold the opportunity close. Opportunity is very important ,not to be missed so these out of the way examples are to impress and impact your minds. Ladies and Gentleman don't get confused but then you all know that opportunity is feminine. Like a country, ship -- Sir said somebody I don't think opportunity has a gender.Never mind that said Raman authoritatively and silenced the man.
He went on to say before I conclude be bold that is my advice.Confess your feelings -- I mean feelings regarding your projects---don't suppress your desires, I mean your ambitions-- your pipe dreams--- I mean don't wait for the perfect timing-- when you feel that way every moment is perfect-- don't miss -- Raman trailed off and suddenly he found a deafening applause resounding in his ears.it was a standing ovation.
Sir sir you really made your point-- your message has gone home--it was indeed made with such conviction--
Raman left the Dias in a daze. He was surrounded by people and the warmth of good words.but suddenly he felt a slight shiver , he felt alone, he wanted to go home ,he wanted to go back to Ishita, he wanted to be with her, look at her all the time .
