Badi Maa's Glass Half-Full viewpoint

In today's episode I loved it how they showed that two people can analyze the same situation differently. One is an optimist, and the other is a realist (I won't say pessimist, because it is too harsh to describe someone as a pessimist who has gone through a lot in their life). In the roti vs. coffee situation, Radha Bua thinks that it was a tense situation, but Suhana couldn't care less. But Badi Maa has a fresh perspective on Suhana's situation. While Radha Bua thinks she is selfish, unkind and rude, Badi Maa thinks she doesn't keep grudges in her mind and that she forgives and forgets quickly, which is a rare quality to have.

Needless to say, it was refreshing to see Badi Maa with her glass is half full philosophy, vs. Radha Bua's glass is half empty one!

Thoughts, comments, brickbats?????

Radha bua sees things from her own perspective and understanding, while Badi Ma thinks from the person in question perspective. Both are right in how they see the situation.

What we see is the truth and the reality, and depth is not visible to all. I doubt if even Suhana knows her depth. Badi Ma sees the depth and that is why she is so much respected and loved in that family.

Ignore my blabbering if I did not make sense... 😆

@Shounak - Will await your comments then :-)

@ an12345678 (sorry don't know your name) - You are absolutely right. Badi Maa puts herself in the other person's shoes. Suhana is superficial and misguided, but she has her heart in the right place. Badi Maa sees that. Which is why she is the most respected member of the family. Radha Bua is a nice person, but she is quick to pass judgment on Suhana based on her love for Ishaan. She constantly thinks of him as a victim, which is why she is wary of Suhana.

Interesting topic LadyM but I cannot comment much...haven't see nthe episode and still waiting for the written update

But yes both characters are very realistic according to me....both have seen lot of personal suffering which has made hem the person they are right now...while Radha is sceptical and forms an opinion quickly, Badi ma always sees the other side of the coin and looks at both perspective. She is not quick in forming opinion and gives benefit of doubt ot the other person. Her suffering has made her stronger, maturer and she keeps the family together. I think we must give credit to dada and dadi for supporting badi ma in her times of need....Since they supported her so much, Badi ma feels an urge to keep the family together in every way possible. Compare these 2 with Raano who is a happy-go-lucky character becoz not only her husband loves her, he has a fairly good job and she has a son like Ishaan who is responsible and mature.....
This just proves we become the person we are due to our circumstances and the situations we face in life. It depends on us how we react to those situations and that forms our personality.....

Very well said Anshu. You are bang on! Both ladies have suffered in their personal lives. I don't want to compare whose suffering is more than the other. Yet, Radha Bua reacts very differently to a situation than Badi Maa. I am not surprised that Badi Maa's non judgmental attitude makes her the most respected member of the family!

You can call me "An" 😊 What she heard cannot be ignored ( heard it straight from the horse's mouth if I say), and one cannot completely blame her for being paranoid and overly concerned about Ishaan -- she has a valid reason. Imagine if Rano had heard that day's conversation, she would have been a complete mess and must have landed in a hospital by now.

Alright An it is :-)

But I am not blaming Radha Bua at all! She is burdened with the truth. And so far, she has done a great job at concealing the truth from the rest of the household. I am just pointing out that her love for Ishaan has clouded her judgment for seeing through Suhana's real character, unlike Badi Maa.

I do understand that you are highlighting the difference, and completely agree to your view point. 😊

Bold: Plus, she was sensible enough to not confront Suhana straight away. She took her time to digest the shock and I think, now we seeing the side-effects of that digestion. 😆 At times, we think about the event after it has happened and we blow hot and cold because we were unable to react at that time. 😊

I am just wondering: How would Badi Ma have reacted -- real time -- if she was the one who had heard the whole conversation?
