today i was watching the one where Arnav blames Khushi after Anjali attempts to aborts the baby
- yeh sab tumhari galti hai, kyonki agar tum nahi hoti toh shyam aisi harkat nahi karta
and i was struck with the parallel - only Kumud is the Arnav and Saras is Khushi, but Arnav unlike
Kumud melts down soon after and Saras unlike Khushi is not weepy and self sacrificing , he just
goes and does his own thing, more like what Khushi was at start. 😆
Kusum of course is emulating Anjali, self obsessed and selfish and delusional to boot.😡
Hey Arshi... The comparisons between Arnav, Khushi and Anjali to Kumud, Saras and Kusum is interesting, and very true!! Kumud has always been a very strong character like Arnav, and Saras has been the guy with the soft heart like Khushi. Kusum is selfish and self obsessed with a victim mentality like Anjali!
The interesting thing is that Saras being a man and a rich, Harvard educated man at that, is able to make choices in life that differ him from a middle class girl from Lucknow trying to outdo Harvard boy business tycoon from Delhi. But Kumud being the first female graduate of Ratnanagari, is able to command respect and be a bit of a rockstar in her town. She is arrogant and self satisfied kind of like Arnav.
Saras is damaged despite his many achievements and socialite background. He's a lot like Arnav in many ways, having Mum's that were cheated on and having Daddy issues, as well as being from similar backgrounds. But he is not arrogant and he has a really big heart like Khushi!
Love changed both Arnav and Kumud. But just like Arnav, it is interesting to see how Kumud was willing to sacrifice her love for her sister! Both type "A" personalities making choices out of their over inflated sense of duty towards family!
Kusum like Anjali is a victim and is trying to get what she wants out of a situation using emotional blackmail and the suicide card! Both personalities grate on me for their selfishness and narcissistic natures. They do not allow themselves to see the damage they are doing to the people around them. How they are hurting the people they so call "love"!!
We can discuss this topic all night!! I have to stop now. But just want to say I totally agree with your analysis!
