Perfectly said ivy, slipshod and ill written ill directed it is.
And the whole talaab scene was an awful idea in the first place.
The dialogue about mere Sanskar, Saraswati ke Sanskar and Guman ke Sanskar makes an entry again. It was bad then, it is worse now.
Reminds me of smrths name for DB - dug dug ba!
It again reminded me of my biggest grouse against her - pay some attention to your own daughter woman- Kumud has a mom!
And then I wondered about Danny and his minuscule appearance - just to keep us quiet till dikra returns, with nothing really planned for him?
It did come across as though Dukh baa was performing for an 'audience'... Ragini Shah was made to "ham it up" for the talaab sequence & for that "Navin is Saras" scene. And I don't mean to be irreverent but Kumud's breakdown at the 'pooja ghar' came across as K being on a 'soapbox'... What was new about it that she (& the makers) needed to shove down our throats AGAIN that Kumud mein bahut himmat hai... Koi uska imtehaan nahin le raha hai. Kumud is the one hell-bent on giving exams. So why crib about it later?
The only thing I liked was that even after being traumatised out of his mind by Dukh baa, Saras stood his ground. Misplaced or not, he is firm about his priorities... Unlike others who need but a mild gust of wind to 'turn'...
I can't believe Danny too did a 'Sunny' on us =( Dukh baa is overcompensating for God-knows-what. Guniyal is more 'natural' as Mother. Dukh baa should look to her own first. She is the "Mai of double standards" treating Kumari as second best/last resort always. Kumud se fursat mile toh na...
Edit: The callous way secondary characters are treated as 'disposables' is such a huge turn off. The show can't run on Kumud's sobs, Saras' kitchen-plottings, Kalika's vampiness & prima donna Pramad's one-expression. Between these four, the ambience is becoming 'claustrophobic' because they are stuck in a rut which is being dragged forever. And with them, so are we.
