I loved your rationale too of doing it so that her father is cushioned from the realization of the impact of his disastrous choice. It is in keeping with her character.

She is the victim, yet she refuses to be one, and stands tall and strong.

Saras IMO, will always be the guilty one here, his unthinking act caused this.

She too could have chosen to hide behind the same excuse of emotional trauma, crumbled and collapsed, but she did not, she made a choice, and so she feels she must lie in the bed she herself made!

Besides, we need to remember, she is answering to Saras. She won't permit any scar on her father's judgement in front of any third person. And least of all in front of Saras. Remember how fiercely she jumped on him when he so much as uttered a question to VC's misjudgement regarding Haweli papers? It's Natural. For wives are generally fiercely protective of their parents' respect- specially when 'a husband' is observing something amiss. 😲 So obviously, she is bound to accept and act as her own decision.

But one more question- do you think for Pag ferra, rasam, BD will send 'Navinchandra' along with Kumud, in view of Ineligible Pramad?!😃 What a shock it would be to all of them?!😲

After an active week-end for CB folks filled with intense debate on the Kumud-Saras love story...

here is a love song from a different world! It's a classic piece of country music.

I like the bit that goes

...From the backways to the Broadway shows,
With a million miles in between,
There're at least a million love songs
That people like to sing.
And every one is different
and every one is the same...
This is just another way of sayin' the same thing...

Hey, thanks to all for various views for defending and condemning Saras and Kumud. Each of you have lovely explanations and analogy for your pov.
That goes on to suggests nothing is clear cut right or wrong and both sides are debatable. We as viewers relate it to our own understanding of life and its complexities and take sides with the personalities we identify with.

I notice the point missed is Kumud is choosing to stay in the marriage not out of helpless desperation for food and shelter. My admiration is for her choice to take the challenge, which none of us in the forum probably wouldn't have done.(apologies if anyone has said differently and I missed)
Pramad is irredeemable and a lost case, Kumud will not give up without trying.
Why should she even try? It is The Kumud Sundari Desai happy in doing things which majority of us dare not.

Why is she not granting forgiveness? Has she not come down from her pedestal lately?
How can one be impassive to mistakes of one's loved ones. It hurts to be angry but if she didn't care, she would not be driving the point to him. Saras has a long way to go before he can rise above his personal trauma.

Why is Kumud staying put - well I partly agree with you Adiani,it is not out of a need for shelter, for her Bapu would welcome her back, as Dukhbas experience proves.

But I think it's not to take on a challenge, at least not the way it was with Saras - the challenge of making him connect with life.

It is still picking the path of least damage, for here she perceives that the damage is only to her, and her family would be spared, whereas to walk out would protect her, but cause more damage to her family!

And if she stays, she will fight for her dignity - that is Kumud being Kumud the warrior, but I don't think she is staying on for the challenge.

Regarding Saras's forgiveness : agree with you there. Though slow, there has been a climb down and the forgiveness will be a gradual process and not a sudden decision. She has already made some progress in that direction.

Great song happychappy..

Realized today that while I have an ecclectic taste in music...country music genre not explored yet...

So planning to explore this genre going forward...

Arshi-
Amen to what you said about that inspiration!

So true smrth, another husband, wifely thing between them, 'don't even think of saying anything against my maika'.

I would love it if BD suggests that Saras accompanies Kumud for pag fera, have been thinking of this since the day he said that they cannot afford to let pramaad accompany Kumud for pag fera.

What a shocker for Desais, if Kumud lands up with Saras!

But what may happen is that Navin may escort her to maika, leave her at the gates, and not show himself!

But then that would be another rasam of marriage that they would fulfill together! That is quite significant to the storyline!

Jenny also replied to me to say that the show isn't ending & it has a long way to go.

Maybe this should be a seperate topic but I don't want people to rely on my words completely. But bottom line is, tellybuzz seems to be making up quotes now too.

Reemz, TB credibility is very low, they were always publishing such fakes in ipk.

So I believe you!

As viewers we may differ with her reasons, but the task ahead is a challenge from her perspective.
This is my understanding so far.
I'm yet to figure out many a reasonings, like why Kalika is lying and repentant? Or why Kalika's father's plight makes Kumudto change her mind to accept Mangalsutra back. I'm waiting for story to unfold further to give me a better perspective and of course CB masters here.
