Yesterday's episode has made me think about the plight of girls married to an unworthy men and society wants girls only to make the marriage work . How very suffocating it is .

Kumud is uncomplaining daughter of VC , married to a man who is least deserved by her . She wants to be an ideal woman. Her mother-in-law convinces her that with her patience she will win over her husband . Mind you as mother she could not mend her son's ways now she hopes and expects Kumud to improve him. And improve a husband , who does not want accept her as a wife?

In her idealism Kumud even rebuffs Saras who is trying to help her.

This kind of story was good in old days but now it reminds me of typical hindi serial where the heroine is stupid and kind of accepts her bad fate & looses her self respect . Where as on other hand the vamp is always smart . In the end, with help of God and not through her intelligence, the heroine wins .

This is the marriage of convenience between two families . To keep the family honor VC made hurried decision to get Kumud married on the scheduled day ( without really bothering to find out about the groom ) to the son of a well known politician family . BD jumped at an opportunity of getting worthy girl to marry his unworthy son .
The reasoning is once they are married girl and groom will adjust . But what kind of trapped marriage is this ?

I really like your post. I also am unable to digest the happenings at the in law's house. The excuse of the adaption cannot work as they have shown lots of modern thoughts and events here. An adaption of a novel should not imply accepting the unacceptable in this era of 'nayi soch'.
However as mentioned, it is the TRP ratings which is dictating the story line so far.

>>Completely, agree with you. These days the story does not feel like an adaptation. It has taken us back to the age when the story was written. Really disappointed!

Today, again she gave a big lecture to Saras on marriage and I was really turned off by her reasons for that. I am not saying that she quit, but I want to see some reasons that are sensible and more suitable for the current time.

> Now it is clear why the BD family jumped at the opportunity. At this time, it feels like an unworthy daughter got an unworthy son.
Yes, once married they will adjust, but why not confirm matters before getting married. Their shadi was in this age, not when the novel was written.
First they show us an educated, computer wali strong will powered girl, and then they show the current track. What a pain.

I too was very upset . Kumud is being very unreasonable. Fed up of Kumud blaming Saras . VC family is also stuck in time frame . Not allowing younger girls to visit Kumud . Story is not moving forward . Makers should realise by now that SC fans want to see Kumud's soft approach to Saras and if they continue with this attitude of Kumud for weeks together, then TRP will be down.

Thank you for liking the post. The makers are really confusing us with the adaptation and original story. I was fine, with the wedding being called off, cos such incidents do occur in this age. However, wife abuse, our lead putting up with a cheating husband, is not something am willing to accept, though it is a reality. The show, is taking women in the wrong direction and dampening the spirit of all those who work so hard for women causes.

Thanks for posting your comments.

Currently, can't stand whoever is writing the current track. I would like to say" writer please wake up which age are you living in?".

Please don't take our younger women in the wrong direction. Give them some better sense to stand by hubby and make a marriage work, do not give those age old reasons. Today's Kumud's reasons to Saras all wrong.

Please do not dampen the energy and spirit of all those people who work so hard for women causes.
