and kumud being kumud will act tit for tat now...more so since she is heart broken and her dad's pride is at stake. ..

but its done...feel a great sense of sadness but also a sense of relief that this traumatic step is done with finally..the toxin is out for us as a fan and viewer...

...now on to the next step...we now have no choice but to move forward...now that this bridge has been burnt...

looking forward to THE love story...which I have mentioned earlier in vaishalis post... the regret, the agony, the pain, the sacrifice, the evolution, the purity, the nobleness, the hope, the strength to live one more day..for our samud...

If only Saraswati had not let the mother in her loose to the wife...weakness does seem like a trait in both..Thumbs up to Gautam for portraying GMT's Saras so well , assuming this portion is lifted word by word from the novel..

Felt extremely bad for Kumud.. Jennifer was brilliant today.. the disbelief, shock, pleas, pain and the shout of indignation in the end when she literally roars, '' jawab dena hoga tumhe'' was very well done.. reminded me of the old Kumud.. also makes me wonder if the inherent pride of the character will be instrumental in her complying to her family's decision to get married to Pramadhan.

After watching Saras today, I feel good about seperation. Saras is emotionally very weak and is not responsible enough to take care of his love and live together with her. If there was no seperation and marraige would have taken place, Kumud's life would have been like hell made by Guman with no support from Saras. He needs to emerge as strong character before coming back to Kumud. Understood he is emotionally shaken knowing his father is responsible for his mothers death, his fathers ugly/harsh word. Today he proved Guman is right. Like Guman said..he will remain in darkness like his mother. Rather than talking to VC, he decided it is better to call off wedding. Even Kumud pleading didn't melt him.

Today belonged to Jenny...wow what an acting. Our Sharnie is back and will not take any crap. She demanded an explaination for all his vows, assurance, committments...and respect of her parents...Go Kumud go!!!

When you know seperation is coming now...somehow all those fun moments very like 'cut the crap'.

There are 2 sides to Saras's reaction and only 2 aspects to Kumud's.

Saras was unreasonable and irresponsible today. But, the despair is true. He is in huge identity crisis that's bigger than before. Marriage is not on the top of the list at this moment when he is going through this. But, he cannot brush aside Kumud's love and move it to back-burner and say he was wrong in accepting. People do falter in times of despair. Their thinking and decision making is shrouded by the same despair.

The way out is either go alone and marry Kumud which is not easy. There will be 100 questions raised from Desais. The other, is to plead with VC, tell him what happened, postpone the wedding. Atleast he did not make an effort to talk to VC. That was too irresponsible. I would have been more sympathetic if he did that. Directly told her. And the way he said her to forgive if possible - just not done.

He is consumed by the crisis, but failed to think about Kumud's situation. For me that was rude. But, if anyone puts himself in his shoes, there is a crushing feeling inside him. He is back to questioning himself on how he got into this love in the first place.

For her there are 2 issues. First is the heartbreak of her wedding being called off. Her love being not reciprocated.

Second and in my POV the bigger one is the social stigma. I feel, heartbreak can be dealt with to an extent if the people around u are supportive and time can help too. Like a chronic ailment. But, the immediate social stigma that is caused to herself and more importantly to her father and rest of family is huge. Like an acute ailment. Can't be dealt with easily but needs immediate redressal. That social stigma is what made her shout that he cannot insult her parents. And the same stigma makes her agree to the other proposal.

Like we discussed, the stakes here are much higher than in novel or movie. This is a day or two before wedding we are talking about unlike in the earlier versions.
