Even though there are some typical things involved in SC, I personally think it is much different to any other show on Indian TV. Most shows CLAIM to be different, but have the same feel - a bubbly female lead, or a seedhi/saadhi i-will-accept-anything kinda female lead. However on this show, both the leads are actually different!

Kumud isn't a typical lead - she knows how to use everything she's got. She's intelligent, confident, practical, sensual and flirty - and she's aware of all of her traits too!

Saras is such a beautiful character, because he is such a pure hero!

^Both of these things are refreshing.

Oh and I disagree with quite a few of your points:

1) Almost everybody on the show is a really good actor - be it VC, Dukhbaa, Chachi, Kumari or Kusum.

2) WTH this show DOES NOT just focus on the leads! ..which is very clear from almost every single episode so far.

3) There is emotional drama, obviously! SC the novel is a tragedy!

4) The drama may be illogical to you now, because the storylines are still being revealed!

5) Most storylines here have no logic ki vaat..compared to other shows, its pretty logical.

6) In many families in India, especially rural India, and even Indian families outside of India, sanskaar is very important, and IS brought up if someone does something wrong.

i completely agree with ur points...it is different from other serials in some ways..it has the SLB touch in its romantic scenes which r just so magical! i have not seen such beautiful romance in any of the serials, here i am talking about acting, direction, and cinematography! the story is yet to unfold, it will begin when kumud marries someone else and saras comes back to live in ratnagiri!

Anyway, I had wished SLB show some sequence like the Chandan sa badan song between SC and Kumud that was there in Saraswatichandra, the film, starring Nutan! It'd be hot! 😉

If gimmicks are to be there, then why not a sequence based on this song? It's better than usual hair tucking romance which's been done to death in every TV show! In the film the leads hadn't even touched each other and the heroine wasn't even wearing the kind of revealing clothes that Kumud in the show wears, yet the song was so sensuous! I hope something like it can be shown in the show now that SC is attracted so soon and is getting closer so quickly.

(The song in the original film is not a gimmick. But I used the word gimmick only in context of this show and based on what's being going on in it since last few days!)

Absolutely!

Don't even get me started again on the Saras so called self restraint, spiritual kinda guy doing those typical romantic scenes! I already wrote and argued a lot over it in the Critics/Frustration thread. It's really abrupt, sudden and unconvincing that this guy who'd earlier refused marriage without even seeing Kumud, due to his leanings towards spirituality, self restraint and celibacy is now doing those typical romantic scenes without any hesitation!

Looks like story's being suddenly mish-mashed for sake of getting eyeballs for the show!

u must have heard of the story of a beautiful dancer maneka who distracts a saint doing meditation falls for her after looking at her face..the same magic happened when kumud showed her face to our saras saint..now he can't resist! come on guys he is a man after all!

logic ni vaat is a big check from my side. Every character in this show potrays his/her own intelligence it is same in SLB's other films

I did not see TFC and eyelocks in the list. 😆

sc is different 4m other shows & maybe it has sme wrongs cz nothing is perfect in this world tht does not mean it is not worth 2 watch it
