Since it is a thin line I do think kumud went between ego and pride. And having to much pride also is a bad thing. I just wanna say that a person can still be honest and arrogant. I don't hate her I was annoyed by her too I think she was overdoing it but she made it up to us on Friday when it showed how sorry she was.
Thanks jammy (BTW, is your ID based on Asad's nickname in QH?) At this point, I see more pride in her. She is proud of who she is and has tremendous respect for her family. saras's family sent the marriage proposal and then Saras turned around and rejected her. This was a big insult to her as a woman and an insult to her family. That's why she has been acting this way. If she were arrogant or egoistic, she would have never said; Main tho rishta thodna chaahti thi, maine tho usee ko thod diya. These are not words of an egoistic woman

You're spot on with this analysis!
I think Kumud's intentions were never wrong. As in she's not vile or vindictive. She was a woman scorned! Rejection is never pleasant and she was more or less reacting on instinct.
You're good with words. You cleared the air by explaining the connotations because I am one of those who tend to interchange ego and pride sometimes and have used 'egoistic' to describe Kumud in some of my posts. And while I still maintain that her pride was bordering on ego when she refused to thank Saras for saving her father's life, we can't forget that an event doesn't determine a person's character, it has to build and culture through a span of time. Kumud, characteristically, is proud for all the right reasons. However, that one incident when her pride went overboard does not make her a brat.
Yes, they will clash, but not because of arrogance or ego, but because they have too much respect for themselves as individuals.-^^You've made a beautiful interpretation there. Will look forward to your posts.

I've read a few of your posts on other forums and I must say you're quite insightful and you're able to put things into perspective quite well...
Kumud is a very realistic character and I find it very easy to relate to her...she's not egoistic but yes she is proud and that pride in herself is very much warranted...contrary to what a few people may think, Kumud has achieved a few milestones that too in a village as small as Ratnanagri and that alone is something to be proud about...not to mention she is the pride of the family and not without good reason...she's the kind of daughter that parents are blessed to have...you can also sense that she's a very empathetic individual, how else did she determine the look in Sara's eyes as those with depths of pain and for that reason accepts the proposal...she wants to share his pain...those are not characteristics of an egoistic individual...but yes she does have a tendency to tread that fine line but only when it comes to Saras...
nicely written sangeeta di👏
Kumud and Saras both have pride in them, not ego. If Kumud was arrogant, she wouldn't be dying for Saras' forgiveness especially when she wasn't even wrong..it was not like she intentionally and knowingly made Saras relive the most painful side of his life...it was a mere innocent prank..it's not her fault that she didn't know about Saras' past!! yet she is taking everything on her...she said she couldn't have made this mistake despite unknowingly...now no arrogant or egoistic person would say and feel so, would they?
