Hello,

I am afraid Kumud has both these qualities. I cannot comment on Saras yet because there isn't much to go on.

Her pride is bruised along with her EGO. They both are actually interconnected... too much pride becomes ego...

I have to agree though, they will not allow people to walk all over them. Neither will they let their families come to any harm.

You're spot on with this analysis!

I think Kumud's intentions were never wrong. As in she's not vile or vindictive.

She was a woman scorned! Rejection is never pleasant and she was more or less reacting on instinct.

She's the first graduate in her village.

What's not there to be proud of?

EDIT: Who better to define emotions than you Sangeeta. The difference between pride and arrogance...I feel the latter is when someone looks down on others to boost their self-confidence while pride is limited to yourself, your achievements. Arrogance demeans the importance of others, pride is what comes from within for yourself. If that makes sense?!

I do feel Kumud's immense pride is taken as ego because she does give her desires and opinions that much importance. It's a thin line though. Her mum calls her arrogant so that's her viewpoint on Kumud. I'm still enjoying watching the layers in both Saras and Kumud unfold :))

thanks reemz...you are sweet. I still remember our AR posts on DMG forum...those were some days.😃

I see more pride than arrogance in kumud. If she was merely arrogant, she wouln't have been so remorseful after finding the truth about Saras's mom. Also, her request for forgiveness was heartfelt. Yes, there is a fine line between pride and ego but i see more pride than ego in both characters at this stage

well, for a woman in a small village like Ratnagiri, she has achieved quite a lot. And if she was arrogant, she would never ask for forgiveness and be so remorseful

If you want arrogance...see Asad Ahmed Khan in QH😃

I couldnt articulate it as well as how you have. Beautiful post!

Thanks Aish. I am sure as the story progresses, we will see them crossover from pride to ego and back but as of now, I see more pride than ego but that's what makes these characters real and interesting. If they were all goody goody, it would be so boring
