As of today, this is what I thought.

Sets - wow.. clothes - wow .. music - catchy .. editing, camera, lighting and stuff - need I say .. it has a very filmy touch to it! I am glad SLB ventured into TV, TV definitely needed a makeover!

Now for the story.. so something happened a few years ago.. maybe that's what killed the mom .. SC loves his mom and his dad, doesn't hate his stepmom but hasn't accepted her as his mom. Well-educated, rich, and still very spiritual... does he think that takes him closer to his mom, since his mom taught him that? Kumud on the other hand is shown to be modern, a big big relief .. she at least has heard of the internet.. phew! Let's just hope she doesn't turn into a door mat any time soon or he becomes spineless a few months after jumping down from the sky!

But I don't get these black-tie events.. women can wear sarees but guys can't wear dhoti? Or did the dad have a problem with exposure?? 😛 😛 Was it just me or was Gauti showing a little too much skin! I just seriously hope SLB will show me something a little more.. no gutter folks.. I mean little more than just skin.. as in good story.. you can get your head out of the gutter now.. peoplz! And what's with leads popping out of the water.. pulling a 007 are we? Ok, blasphemy .. I am not comparing Gauti and Daniel Craig.. nope, never!! *banging my head against the wall* and Jenny is stunning, but definitely no Halle berry.. btw how can Jenny still look the same as she did a decade ago as Sneha in Kasauti??

Gauti.. I was impressed, at least in the initial scenes.. I loved the way he used his eyes and his voice. That's signature SLB right there.. though of course not all actors can pull that off. Just hope he keeps it up! Jenny, well I don't know why she always looks fake to me. In fact I thought she was trying to imitate Ash a lot!

I loved the family in the haveli.. very cute.. and very filmy.. but she is already sketching his eyes.. guess a new telepathic line between Dubai-India will be opening up soon .. do they converse through sun and moon? Seriously, I am tired of this crap.. I was hoping a little more reality, but I guess this is what people like.. larger than life story! Sigh!

Ok, seriously.. I need a good story and consistency and definitely no loopholes to be impressed. I am not falling for looks or chemistry any more. Just hope SLB can deliver!

The only complaint I have for now is that Kumud seems like a Mary Stu and Saraswatichandra is quite possibly a Gary stu. It might be too early to tell, but they seem flawless from what I've seen. Let's see if they'll be given flaws soon.

Gautam is brilliant- a lot of charisma on screen. Jenny is pretty good too - I normally cannot stand her. I can she has aged, but still looks quite young and pretty as Kumud. Her acting is OK.

I don't like the stepmother, but then it is Monica Bedi and she has an annoying face.

I may watch other episodes - it wasn't too bad!!

I thought Kumud was creepy the moment she was sketching the eyes of the guy she saw in her dream. Geez really? *rolling eyes again* Maybe I have been spoiled by tv shows that are a little more real! 😛 And then she jumps into the pool after a pearl.. and voila finds it too.. in the dark under the water with very little light. I must say I loved the execution though of the pearl rolling down and the way it hits the lotus and the sound.

I did watch one scene and my jaw dropped.. when she jumped out the water and the camera focused on her wet body.. umm.. interesting.. 😛 Wonder what TRP aunties thought about that? 😆

I remember at the launch with SLB they were both on stage and there Jenny did look older. But on camera it may work. She still looks youngish and cute, but she has aged since DMG, for example. I liked how simple they made her look.

Monica reminds me of this character from Hollyoaks - don't know if there are any Brits around who know what I mean lol.

I also hope that we see shades of grey in these characters - it would be a shame if the stepmother was evil with no rhyme or reason behind her cold behaviour towards SC...

I really, really, really hope the creatives borrow from the book but do not follow it to a T...
