Heya peeps me back with Chapter 5 of my RS! Firstly thanks to all for reading the SS and liking it! and secondly Shorry to keep you guys waiting! without wasting time here you go with the next update!

Someone knocked at Kabir's door. Kabir who was busy packing asked the person on the other side to come in. Rachna entered the room.

"Yeh kya hai Kabir? Kya kar rahe ho tum? Yeh packing kis liye?" [What's this Kabir? What are you doing? What's this packing for?]

"Haan woh maine tumse kaha than a ke main Delhi jaana wala huun wahan pe ek Management training Institute me admission lena hai to bas. Unse phone pe baat hui thi they want me to meet them day after tomorrow. To ishi liye packing kar raha huun, parso milna hai so I have to leave tomorrow." [Yeah I had told you na that I am going to Delhi to take admission in a Management training Institute so. I had a talk with them on phone, they want me to meet them day after tomorrow. So I am packing, I have to meet them in 1 day so I have to leave tomorrow.]

"tum kal jaa rahe ho? Aur mujhe tumne yeh batana zaruri nahi samjha! Arre wah! Kya baat hai." [You are going tomorrow? And you didn't even find it necessary to inform me! great.]

"Rachna tum busy thi aur phir sagai bhi to hai tumhari parso. " [Rachna you were so busy and than your engagement is also in 1 day.]

"Haan aur tum ushi din jaa rahe ho. Tumhe kya lagta hai Kabir? Tum chale jaoge to kya main apni engagement thik se celebrate kar payungi? Bas tumhare hi bare me sochti rahungi main." [Yeah and you are leaving on the same day. What you think Kabir? I'd be able to celebrate my engagement well without you? I'd be thinking about you only all the time.]

"Rachna sagai tumhari hai aur tumhe ishe puri tarah se enjoy karna chahiye. Phir tumhari engagement pe koi ho ya na ho tumhe isse koi fark nahi panda chahiye. Samjhi. it's really a special occasion for you and you should just celebrate it!" said Kabir busy packing his bags.[Rachna it's your engagement and you should enjoy it completely. And someone is there on your engagement or not it should matter you a bit. Understood. It's really a special occasion for you and you should just celebrate it!]

"wah kya baat kahi hai. Tuhi to hai mera sabse sacha dost meri sagai hai aur tub bhag raha hai. very good! Arre aur sach hai main to bhool hi gayi thi sagai to meri hai to tujhe kya fark padne wala hai? tu ja jake admission lele. Jaise ki woh training institute kahin bhag raha hai." [Wah very well said. You only are my best friend and you only running away on my engagement. very good! And yeah I forgot it's my engagement why would it matter to you? You go and take admission. Like that training institute is going to run somewhere.]

"woh baat nahi hai Rachna! it's important. Aur tum yeh baat janti ho." [It's not that Rachna! It's important. And you also know it.]

"ofcourse main janti hun it's important. Mujhe bhi to lena hai admission but kyat u do din baad nahi ja sakta tha phir to main bhi." [Ofcourse I know it's important. I also have to take admission but couldn't you go after 2 more days than i'd also.]

"Tu bhi? " [You also?] said Kabir raising his eyebrow. "Tu bhi kya? Chalti mere saath admission lene?" [You also what? Go with me to take admission?]

"Haan. Kyun nahi. Papa ko bolti ki..." [Yeah. Why not. I could have told papa...]

"Rachna tu sachme itni naadan hai kya?" [Rachna are you really this much silly?] Kabir spoke losing his patience for the first time in days.

"nadan matlab? Isme nadani wali kya baat hai? hum pehle kabhi kahin saath me nahi gaye kya? Aur phir padhayi ki baat.." [Silly means? What's of silliness in this? Have we never gone anywhere together before? And than taking studies..]

"it's not just about "padhayi" anymore Rachna. tu.. tum shadi kar rahi ho... kisi aurse. Aur ushi ka tumpar sabse pehla haq hai Rachna. mujhe nahi lagta ki hum.." [it's not just about "studies" anymore Rachna. You.. you are getting married.. with someone else. and he only has the first right on you... I don't that we..]

"kya?? Kya hum? Shadi ho rahi hai to hum dost nahi rahe? 22 saal ki dosti ek din me khatam. Wah!" [What?? What we? Getting married so we aren't friends anymore? 22 years friendship to end in just one day! Great!]

"It's not about our dosti anymore too Rachna samjho." [It's not about our friendship anymore too Rachna understand.]

Rachna now angry with whatever Kabir had said proceeded towards him held him by both his hands and pulled him close, "Nahi samajh aa raha mujhe. Tu samjha. Waise bhi tujhe pata hai na tere help ke bina main kuch samajh nahi pati." [No I can't understand. You make me. You know na I can't understand anything without your help.]

Kabir pulled away from her and said, "iss tarah kabhi bhi mere kamre me.. kisi aur ladke ke kamre me ana thik nahi hai Rachna. kyunki ab hum bache nahi rahe aur ab naahi sirf baat hamari dosti ki hai. you are someone else's betrothed. Agar usse pata chal gaya ke tu iss tarah mere kamre me chori chupe itni raat ko milne aati hai to kya lagega ushe? Bata kya lagega ushe?" [Coming like this in my room... in some other guy's room is not well Rachna. Because now we are not kids anymore and it's not only about our friendship anymore. you are someone else's betrothed. If he came to know that you come to meet me in my room hiding like this in the middle of night what would he think? Tell what would he think?]

Rachna couldn't understand what to say. She was standing shell shocked only listening to Kabir who was speaking in such a bitter tone that she somehow felt the boy standing in front of her is not her buddy at all. She felt he is someone else thoroughly unknown to her.

"aise kya dekh rahi ho? Yehi sach hai. pata nahi main kya bulayu tumhe? Nadan ya bewakuf?" [Why are you staring like this? This is the truth. I don't know what to call you? Innocent or stupid?]

"Kabir tum aise kaise.." [Kabir how can you..]

"You know na Rachna I am really concerned about my reputation now aur agar tujhe teri reputation ki nahi hai to kasekam mera aur uncle ka to soch. Tere ghar pe itne saare log aye hain but you don't care tujhe bas apne hisab se sab chahiye. 'Abhi Kabir ki madat chahiye to Kabir se milne chalo, kya fark padta hai, kisi aur ko kaisa lage.' Aisa sochna band karde. Rajat ki tujhse kafi sari expectation hogi Rachna and I am sure usmese ek zarur yeh Nahi hoga ki uski biwi chori chupe raat ke 11 baje kisi aur ladkese milne jaye. Ab samajh me ayi baat tujhe! Waqt ke saath saath cheese bhi badal jati hai Rachna. ab tak hum dost the is liye sathme rehte the. Maze karte the. Par abhi teri zindagi me koi aur bhi hai jiske pasand na pasand ka tujhe khayal rakhna hai. iss liye iss tarah ab..." [You know na Rachna I am really concerned about my reputation now and if you are not worried about your reputation atleast think about me and uncle. So many guests are at your home but you don't care you only want everything to be according to your will. 'Now need Kabir's help so go and meet Kabir, what's of matter, what others would think' Stop thinking like this. Rajat would be having alot of expectations from you Rachna and I am sure among them one important wouldn't be that his wife goes out 11 at night hiding to meet some other guy. Now you understood! With time things also change Rachna. Till now we were friends that why used be together. Used to have fun. But now there is someone else also in your life whose likes and dislikes u have to take care of. That's why from now on like...]

"iss tarah ab mujhe tujhse nahi milne aana chahiye. Kyun ki agar main ayi to koi aur kuch kahe na kahe tu zarur mujhe galat samjhega." [From now on like this I shouldn't come to meet you. Because if I came others may something or not you would surely consider me wrong.]Rachna had tears in her eyes & strange it was because a guy who always wiped away her tears was the reason behind her tears today.

" Main kabhi tujhse phir milne nahi ayungi. Tujhe jahan jana hai jo karna hai kar." [I would never come again to meet you. Go wherever you want do whatever you do.] Saying this Rachna rushed out of Kabir's room.

Kabir wanted to stop her but then he remembered something and stopped himself instead. He sat down on the bed murmuring through his choked voice, "I am sorry Rachna. I am sorry."

(two days earlier)

"Main to dekhte hi samajh gayi thi ki saari planning Kabir ki hai." [As soon as I saw I knew it was all planned by Kabir.] smiled Rachna, "kyunki Gunjan tujhe pata hai na jab bhi Kabir mere liye kuch plan karta hai to everything is just so darn perfect and beautiful, aur Rajat to mujhe abhi thik se janta bhi nahi hai to uske liye itna perfect date plan karna was not possible" [because Gunjan you know na whenever Kabir plans anything for me everything is just so darn perfect and beautiful, and Rajat doesn't know me that much till now so it was impossible for him to plan such a perfect date.]

Gunjan gave an awkward smile, "Rachna woh.. bonfire ke paas chalte hain chal.. waise bhi sab wait kar rahe hai. Rajat bhi to tujhe do baar bula chukka hai." [Rachna... lets go near bonfire come... everyone is waiting. Rajat have also called you 2 time.]

"of o! Main tujhe itni interesting date ki kahani suna rahi huun aur tu hai ki.. tujhe bonfire ke paas jake stupid si antakshari khelni hai."[of o! I am telling you story of such an interesting date and you... you have to go near the bonfire and play that stupid antakshri.]

"Rachna tu to mujhe wohi bata rahi hai jo mujhe already pata hai. to isme alagse sunna kya hai bol."[Rachna you are telling me what I already know. So what's of listening in it seperately.]

"tujhe already pata hai? kya? Mere date ke bare me? Par maine to yeh abhi tak kisiko nahi bataya. Kabir ko bhi nahi.. kyunki usse sunni nahi thi.. itna sone me byasth the janab kal raat ko." [You already know? what? About my date? But I haven't told about it to anyone yet. not even Kabir... because he didn't want to listen.. he was so busy in sleeping last night...]

"main date ki baat nahi kar rahi hun Rachna.." said Gunjan [I am not talking about the date Rachna..]

"to phir kya pata hai tujhe.." [Than what else you know..] said Rachna looking confused.

"ke Kabir se behtar koi tere liye kuch plan kar hi nahi sakta..chal sab log bula rahe hai"saying this Gunjan joined her friends." [That nobody can plan anything better for you than Kabir... come now everybody is calling]

Rachna too joined them after a while.

Rajat said, "okay so finally Madam aapko dosto se fursat mil gayi."[okay so finally madam got time from her friends.] And pulled Rachna closer to him. Kabir who was sitting right in front of Rachna and Rajat did not feel comfortable and was about to leave when Rajat intervened.

"Arre kahan jaa rahe ho Kabir. Aarre yeh bonfire party meri hone wali biwi ke dosto ke liye maine khas rakhi hai. aur tum chale jaoge to party successful kaise hogi Kabir? After all you are my would-be wife's best buddy." Saying this he pulled Rachna closer. [Arre where are you going Kabir. Arre I have kept this bonfire party specially for my wife's friends. and if u'll go than how would this party become successful Kabir? After all you are my would-be wife's best buddy.]

Kabir sat down again.

Rajat then turned towards Rachna and said, "chalo Rachna lets dance." [Come Rachna let's dance.]

"Dance? Nahi I cant dance." [Dance? No I can't dance.]

"come on Rachna ek dance me kya rakha hai? tumhe nahi aata to no problem main tumhe sikha dunga!" [Come on Rachna what's in one dance? If you don't know no problem I'll teach you!]

"Nahi Rajat mujhe.. o come on.."saying this he kind off pulled Rachna up and took her to the dance floor, "music please!" he ordered and as the music played he started dancing with Rachna!

(Memory)

"Kabir Mujhe dance nahi aata yaar.. please mujhe mat bol dance karneke liye!" [Kabir I don't know to dance yaar.. please don't ask me to dance!]

"ok.. tujhe kuch nahi karna padega tu bas chal stage pe. Main huun na." [ok.. you won't have to do anything just come on stage. I am there na.]

"Nahi nahi nahi.. mujhe nahi jaana.." [No no no... I don't want to go..]

"do you trust me or not?"asked Kabir.

"ofcourse I do lekin agar mera haath pair toot gaya to kya hoga?" [ofcourse I do but if I broke my hand feet than?]

"acha agar tujhe haath pair use karne ki zarurat hi na ho to? Bol?" [okay if you wouldn't have to use your hand feet than? tell?]

"kya? Kaise.. arre tu chal to!" [what? how..] [arre come!]

Rachna rose and went to the dance floor to dance with Kabir.

"Ok ab tu mere pair par chad ja.." [Ok now you get on my feet..]

"Kya?" [What?]

"chad to sahi!"

Rachna did as Kabir commanded. Rachna was standing barefooted on Kabir's feet and as the slow music rolled Kabir moved swiftly around carrying Rachna on his feet and they danced together. Rachna was giggling and saying, "Kabir tu pagal hai.." [Kabir you are mad..]

"woh to huun.. par tere liye kuch bhi! Samjhi.. waise yeh teri dance karneki hamesha ki wish puri ki maine apne birthday pe aisa koi aur dost nahi karega haan!" [yea that's true... but for you anything! understood... waise i have fulfilled your ever long wish to dance.. no other friend would do anything like this on his birthday haan!]

Rachna stamped on one of his feet hard.

"ouch!" cried Kabir

"aur yeh maine ki tere hamesha wali mujhse maar khane ki wish puri.. aisa bhi koi aur dost nahi karega haan woh bhi tere birthday pe!" [And here I fulfilled your ever long to get beaten by me wish... no other friend would do like this too that also on your birthday!]

Kabir turned and looked away as Rachna danced with Rajat. He could not really come to terms with Rachna dancing with Rajat especially when he has such beautiful memories of his ownself dancing with Rachna. Kabir chose a corner to sit aloof from everyone else. But soon one of his friends came and dragged him to the dance floor! But hardly had Kabir set his foot on the dance floor when something happened and Kabir stood petrified!

In front of Kabir was Rajat who was not dancing with Rachna anymore but had now pulled Rachna close and was on the verge of kissing her. Before Kabir knew he had receded from the spot. Rushing away far, far off from the place.

When Kabir returned home his mother was still awake. He was heading towards his room when his mother called, "Kabir! Itna late aa rahe ho? bataya bhi nahi papa puch rahe the aur mujhe unse jhoot kehna padha ke tum mujhe batake gaye ho ke late aane wale ho!"

"Mummy woh.. main...bas kuch nahi aisehi.. hum baad me baat kare!"

"Kabir ruko! Idhar aayo!"

Kabir did not move for a moment but then dragged himself towards his mom.

"Baitho" pointed his mother towards the sofa. Kabir sat reluctantly.

"Kya hua? Party achi nahi thi?" asked Kabir's mom.

"Mom mujhe neend aa rahi hai.. main jayun please hum kal baat karte hain. Waise bhi bohot raat ho gayi hai na."

"Rachna Rajat ke saath thi?"

As Kabir looked at his mom his expression turned from one of shock to that of pain.Soon tears filled his eyes. He nodded looking away and then he broke down completely. His mother embraced him and Kabir cried harder speaking softly, "Why mom? Why? Why us? Why my Rachna?"

His mother did not speak for long and then after Kabir had calmed down a bit , his mother spoke again, "Kabir you should have told her long back! It's not late even now. She is not engaged yet. You know what I mean."

Kabir raised his head finally looked at his mother through his wet eyes, shaking his head, "Nah mom.. It's late. You have no idea how happy Rachna is about this entire marriage thing. I cannot tell her about my feelings now. Main usse kisi dubidha me nahi daal na chahta. I don't want her to think about me while she is happy thinking about her future with Rajat."

"Kabir lekin yeh bhi to ho sakta hai na ke woh bhi..."

"Nahi mom.. ab kuch nahi ho sakta." Saying this Kabir got up to leave he had only taken a step or two when his mother spoke again and this time with a stern voice.

"Then let her go. Don't hold on her. You need to tell yourself that she is no more yours. She is just a friend. Aur Kabir dosti ki kuch hadde hoti hain. Yeh baat ab tum dono ko pata honi chahiye. Rachna ko samjhao aur yeh tum khud bhi samjho ke ab ek dusre se dur jane ka waqt aa gaya hai. Agar ab bhi tum dono pehle jaise...to log baatein banayenge Kabir aur yeh Rachna ke liye.. uski aane wali zindagi ke liye thik nahi hoga!"

Kabir remembered his mother's words as he hit his own hand against his wall. His hand started bleeding. He did not care. He knew it was not at all an apt punishment for what he did today. He made Rachna cry, his Rachna cry. He realized that he and his Rachna have finally Drifted Apart!
