Bidaai completed three years on October 8. But if the buzz is to be believed, then the serial is likely to go off air soon. What gives credence to rumours is that officially the show has not been given an extension yet. However, producer Rajan Shahi feigns ignorance about the show's fate.

"I have not heard anything from the channel. If the extension has not come, I have also not been told to wind it up," he says. Though the long daily is still rating three-plus TVR and it is a tough decision for the channel to bring the curtains down on the show, Star Plus wants to end Bidaai while it is still raking in good audience share. Apparently, while Bidaai will go off air in the coming months if not weeks, the producer has been asked to start working on a new daily.
