Title: Mother Knows best.
Pairing: Sanyukta/Randhir Dhruv/Ragini
(Plot twist: When Randhir Breaks down and open ups to Anju, little does he know that it will change everything)
Randhir holds in a gulp. He can't believe that this of all things is happening.
When Sanyukta told him her mother wanted to talk to him, Randhir went, expecting the worst.
Anju Agarwal had the same eyes as her daughter, the same shape, just darker.
And it was then that Randhir Singh Shekhawat found out where Sanyukta got her hurricane like determination from.
"You are hiding something, something is troubling you. Don't lie to me Randhir." Anju's voice was kind but firm.
No bullshitting here. This lady had all the power.
Just moments ago she was telling him about Dhruv and what a nice man he was.
Randhir could hear the unspoken warning.
Dhruv is a better man. Maybe even a better match for Sanyukta.
Lips trembling, Randhir shook his head. He had to lie. To keep Sanyukta safe. Those thug brothers of Ragini's had almost shot her.
"I am a mother Randhir. I know it when my children lie." Anju's tone was a little softer.
He felt a gentle touch on his shoulder.
"Look Randhir, whatever it is, you don't have to do this alone. You made a few mistakes in the past. I've forgiven you. Don't make me regret it by making another mistake."
Randhir's head had felt so heavy.
So heavy with the burden and the pain he was carrying.
And also, heavy with the amount of concern he heard in the older woman's voice.
Like a streched rubber band, he snapped.
He didn't know have long he had babbled, crying, coughing, Hiccuping till every painful memory and thorny burden was laid at Anju Agarwal's feet.
At some point he'd sat on the floor and cried like a child, only to feel a soft hand run through his hair.
Sanyukta was looking at him with big, teary eyes.
His body was itching to feel her arms around him.
Anju took a deep breath
"Gunde hein. Didn't it occur to you to file an FIR?"
"Uske Bhai hein"
Anju frowned " Dhamki di thi, banduk se saath. Majak nahi hai beta."
"Mein kissi ki life ke saath khelna nahi chahta" Randhir's hands were trembling.
"Beta mein tumhe Sanyu ke future ke saath bhi toh nahi khelne de sakti!" Anju wiped a tear off Sanyukta's face.
"Maa?"Sanyu's pained whisper made Randhir's heart hurt.
If only...
"Dekho Randhir, tumhare irade nek hain. Aur tum sanyukta se pyaar karte ho, wo bhi tumse pyaaar karti hein." Anju smiled "Par agar is baar tumne koi gadbad ki toh...Don't make me regret trusting you"
Randhir and Sanyukta couldn't believe their ears.
Maa was giving their relationship her blessing.
And when Anju Agarwal hugged him, he finally felt the void in his life that only a mother could fill fade away.

"I'm sorry Ragini. You know I only did as he told me." Randhir hugged Ragini.
"I..I...I can't... I know you did as he said, Silly K..Karan...Always loved me" Ragini pulled back.
Ragini's long hair had been chopped off into a sleek bobcut.
She wore formal clothes and makeup.
No one could know her now. Not even her own family.
Which was the plan.
Dr.Dhruv was to be thanked for that.
The man had interrupted with a knock on the door And Anju had told Randhir he could be trusted.
Dr. Dhruv turned out to be a man of many contacts and with the help of a few friends from the Witness Protection Ragini was now Nikita, Dhruv's fiancee.
He would take her to the US where she'd be safe.
Randhir's promise to Karan would not be broken.
Neither would his oath to keep Sanyukta Safe.
He smiled at Anju Agarwal, his eyes saying what he couldn't trust his mouth to.

Maa.. Randhir now not only had the love of his life back, but also the love of a mother that he'd yearned for all his life.
