Chapter 13 :
"Akhila?" they told together.
They were so busy in recollecting the flashback that they didn't even know when Akhila had passed by them and entered into the cabin.
"Missed me sweetheart?" Akhila told with sarcasm shimmering in her voice.
"Tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?" Parth told angrily.
"I think you'll have come to talk to me!" Vardhan told.
"Yes sir," Sanyukta replied.
"So? Continue," Vardhan told sternly.
"Sir, but?" Sanyukta told looking at Akhila.
"No that's okay. Continue," Vardhan told.
Parth and Sanyukta were extremely shocked. Akhila smirked.
"Sir woh hum Randhir ke bare mein-" Parth started but was interrupted.
"Abb kya complaint lekar aaye ho? Is he ruining your happiness again?" Vardhan told with a bit of anger.
"Sir, we just wanted to know about Randhir's son!" Sanyukta told.
"Randhir's son?" Vardhan asked, "Why?"
"Sir because..." Sanyukta started but trailed not knowing what to tell.
"Yes I am listening," Vardhan told.
"Sir because we are shocked that he has a six-year old son!" Parth told gaining some courage.
"Shocked? Why?" Vardhan replied coolly.
"Sir we just want to know the truth!" Sanyukta shouted suddenly.
"Truth? You know it right?" Vardhan told now he sounded real angry.
"Sir please!" Sanyukta pleaded.
"Get out both of you!" Vardhan shouted.
"Sir please!" Both pleaded together.
"GET OUT!" Vardhan told angrily.
"Sir please!" Sanyukta told and broke down.
She was crying uncontrollably. Vardhan felt bad, she was not only his student but somewhat like a daughter he never had. He went to her and made her stand up. He gave her a glass of water and signalled Akhila to start.
"Okay listen!" Akhila started.
"You? We don't want to listen anything from your mouth!" Parth told.
"You have no choice baby, I am here for that!" Akhila snapped back.
"But reunion?" Sanyukta muttered.
"I came today. I wasn't interested in attending these stupid reunions and now stop your silly questions and let me talk!" Akhila told.
"Hmm..." they replied.
FLASHBACK : (guys this is Akhila's flashback so I am keeping it in Green)
CANTEEN :
"Randhir?" Akhila told.
"Akhila? Yes?" Randhir told.
"I need a favor from you," Akhila told.
"What?" Randhir asked coldly.
"Vardhan sir told me to get some material for the dreamteam contest and I need someone to tag along, will you accompany me?" Akhila asked in her sweetest voice.
Randhir didn't know her real self so he agreed.
"I'll tell Parth and come!" Randhir told.
"No wait, you can't! It's a surprise for the dreamteam!" Akhila told.
"I am a member of the dreamteam Akhila!" Randhir told.
"I know, but I don't talk to people much here and you're the only one I could find!" Akhila told.
"Okay by what time we'll be back?" Randhir asked.
"We'll be leaving tomorrow early morning and we'll be back by maximum 3!" Akhila replied.
"Alright, I'll be there!" Randhir told and left.
"Mission Accomplished!" Akhila told with an evil smile on her face.
Next day,
"Chalo," Randhir told.
"Thanks for coming!" Akhila replied.
"Cool," Randhir replied and they went out of the gate.
They purchased the materials required and asked the shopkeeper to deliver it to FITE as those materials were very heavy. They were walking back to college. On the way a few goons had come and they attacked Randhir and Akhila. They ripped off Akhila's shirt and tried to get cozy with her. They knew Akhila was Brijraj Mukherjee's daughter and they wanted to kidnap them and blackmail her father to step down from his post. Randhir, being a gentleman, gave his shirt to Akhila and fought the goons. He was hurt badly and so was Akhila. Akhila couldn't even walk. Her mother had called her up at that moment only and she picked up the call and told her mom everything. Her mom asked her to come home immediately and that she will send the car to pick her up.
Her car came. Her mom stepped out and immediatle hugged her child who was crying uncontrollably. She asked her to come home with her and gether wounds cleaned but Akhila refused.
"Akhila your mom is right! Go home now!" Randhir told.
"Randhir my house is not faraway from here, you have to come too! You're hurt badly enough!" Akhila told.
"No, I am fine and Sanyukta and Parth would be worrying about me!" Randhir told.
"Oh please, just come. You saved me and I have to repay you!" Akhila insisted.
Even Akhila's mom insisted and Randhir finally agreed. They went to Akhila's house. Akhila's dad hugged Randhir and thanked him a hundred times. He asked them to stay there for sometime and then leave as they were badly wounded and Akhila was in a state of shock. Randhir wanted to leave as early as possible but Akhila was sleeping and so her dad didn't allow him to go alone either. He was scared that the goons might be watching them and they may attack Randhir if he was alone. He declared that they would leave in the morning only. They left early in the morning accompanied by a few bodyguards to keep them safe.
"That is what happened. Any questions?" Akhila asked coolly.
There was a long silence after Akhila spoke. For Sanyukta the world ended there.
"But why didn't Randhir tell us when we asked him?" Parth told breaking the silence.
"That's because dad asked him not to!" Akhila replied, "Dad was a very influential politician and if the opposition party would come to know about that then it would become a mess and dad's position and my life would be in risk. Dad asked him to swear on a person who was his life and he swore on you Sanyukta. That's why he didn't tell you'll a word!"
"And his phone, why was it not reachable?" Parth asked.
"Oh that? I wanted him to concentrate on me so I dropped his phone in a pool of mud and pretended it to be a mistake and whenever he tried calling you from my landline or any other source I did something to prevent him from doing so!" Akhila replied.
"You had Randhir's shirt right?" Parth asked.
"Didn't I tell you that Randhir gave me his shirt because mine was ripped off by those goons? He didn't bother to ask it back, he must be having many of them," Akhila told mocking him.
"And the video?" Parth asked.
"Which era do you live in?" Akhila asked, "Photoshop dude! I am a master in that!" Akhila replied.
"And the conversation between you and Anita?" Parth asked.
"That was the best part of my plan!" Akhila told and chuckled, "I heard to your conversation in the class and decided it then! I saw Sanyukta coming and then I and Anita started acting. Sanyukta come on now, what kind of a person would shout their password loudly? Then we acted as though we're going to the mess and that gave Sanyukta time to check out the video. Anita being my bestfriend and a mutual hater of Sanyukta helped me gladly!" Akhila told.
"Hater? Why do you'll hate her?" Parth asked.
"Because she snatched Randhir away from us!" Akhila replied.
"Snatched? He wasn't yours!" Parth retorted.
"But I could make him mine but because of her it had become impossible! I loved him goddammit!" Akhila replied.
"What?" Parth asked.
"Yes and there's one more thing that no one knows not even my dad!" Akhila replied.
"What?" Parth asked.
"The entire thing was my plan including the goons part! I wanted to Randhir away from her at any cost and my plan worked wonders!" Akhila told not at all scared that Vardhan sir was listening to them.
"You're such a..." Parth stopped as he remembered Vardhan sir was there.
"Bitch? Yeah I know!" Akhila told and laughed.
Parth controlled his urge of beating that girl black and blue. He knew very well it was his mistake as well. He didn't trust his bestfriend!
Wait a second! Why are you telling the truth now?" Parth asked bemused.
"That's because Vardhan sir threatened me to tell you the truth and I really don't have a choice! Vardhan sir's friend is my boss and not telling you the truth would cost me my job!" Akhila told and looked at Vardhan sir.
"Thankyou Akhila now get out!" Vardhan told.
"Hope we don't meet again!" Akhila told and went away.
"Get out both of you!" Vardhan told. He was back to his usual self.
Meanwhile, Randhir had reached his house. He entered his house and Ranveer came running towards him and jumped on him with full force.
"Senior!" he shouted.
"Junior!" Randhir shouted back.
"I missed you," Ranveer told.
"I missed you too," Randhir told.
Randhir sat on his knees and hugged Ranveer harder. Ranveer too didn't let go of him. Randhir cried. He cried harder than ever. He continued pulling Ranveer closer and closer and crying simultaneously. Ranveer didn't move, he was happy that he was with his dad. He knew that his dad was crying and he wanted to ask him what had happened but he contolled himself as his dada had warned him. Randhir knew Ranveer wouldn't ask him anything. He had expected that dada would call Ranveer and ask Ranveer not to ask him anythimg about the reunion. He didn't want to cry nor he felt like but after hugging Ranveer he couldn't control himself from crying. He didn't know how long he cried hugging Ranveer but he sat there just like that for hours together crying. Randhir felt as if Ranveer's grip on him loosened so he backed off a bit and noticed that Ranveer had slept off. He carefully picked up Ranveer and placed him on his bed. He kissed ranveer's forehead lightly, muttered a silent I love you' and went to his room. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
"Ravi, re-schedule all the important meetings for tomorrow and what about the ad?" Randhir asked.
"That is sorted out sir and I will take care of the meetings," Ravi replied.
Randhir hung up.
After crying, Randhir became the stone again and now he knew no one could break him. He was Randhir only to Ranveer now, for the others, he was Randhir Singh Shekhawat.
Vardhan's cabin -
Parth was numb after Akhila went out. He didn't move, he fell on the floor crying badly. Vardhan wanted to console him but he didn't.
"Why the hell didn't I trust you Randhir? I missed you soo much all these days. It's all my fault!" he thought. He just couldn't think beyond that. He was broken.
Sanyukta on the other hand; was dead from inside. She cursed herself with all the words she knew. She had no idea how she would live with the guilt she was bearing. She had to meet him.
Sanyukta ran out of the cabin as fast as her legs could take her. She frantically searched for Randhir every damn place possible. Classes, hostel room, garden, Mechanical lab, hell, she even went into the boys washroom and opened every door and checked whether he was there. All she wanted to do was hug him tightly and never let him go. Finally, she reached the terrace expecting him to be there, but she was disappointed. She slowly, precariously walked to the place where they had shared their first kiss. She traced her hand along the path where she had been leaning when Randhir kissed her. She started crying again. Jiggy came up there, he had seen Sanyukta running crazily so he followed her to the terrace. He saw Sanyukta crying and engulfed her in a tight hug.
"Sanyu? Don't cry. Sab theek ho jaayega!" Jiggy told.
"Jiggy! Uss din tumne mujhe force kyu nahi kiya tha?" Sanyukta asked.
Jiggy knew very well which day she is talking about.
The day he came back from his house and got to know the truth he had asked Sanyukta to go and talk to Randhir once but he didn't force her because it would have been of no use. How he wished he had forced her that day. If he did, things would have been different now.
"Sanyu, ro mat! We'll do something!" Jiggy pleaded.
"I hate myself Jiggy, how could I do that to Randhir?" Sanyukta asked.
"Shhh," Jiggy hissed.
"How Jiggy? How could I do that to him?" Sanyukta asked yet again and cried.
"Shhh, it's okay! Everything will be fne," Jiggy told.
"Jiggy Randhir kahan hai? I want to meet him!" Sanyukta told.
"Sanyu, Randhir bhai chale gaye!"
Sanyukta parted from the hug abruptly and asked, "What?"
"Haan Sanyukta, canteen mein jo hua uske baad wo chale gaye!" Jiggy replied.
Sanyukta didn't speak any further. She asked Jiggy to leave as she wanted to stay alone. Jiggy left. She silently leant on to the concrete wall where Randhir had kissed her.
Meanwhile, In Vardhan's cabin :-
Parth was crying hysterically. He hadn't cried this much even when Arpita had died, Vardhan didn't stop him either. He was broken to an irrepairable extent. After crying for an hour he got up and went to his dorm silently and locked the door. Jiggy was with Kaustuki and Sahil in the canteen and he had narrated the whole story to them. They were hell furious with themselves too.
One day had passed, Sanyukta didn't leave the terrace and Parth didn't leave his hostel room. They didn't attend the classes either. It was the last day of the reunion. They just sat at their respective places like lifeless dolls. They hadn't eaten, nor had bath. They just sat there. Kaustuki and Jiggy didn't disturb them but now they decided to do something.
Kaustuki went to Sanyukta who was sitting on the terrace alone. What she saw broke her heart - There Sanyukta was sitting lifeless, her hands hugging her kness, her face facing the right side, eyes swollen, face red, dark circles below her eyes, tear marks along her cheeks, her hair totally tousled and her body burning with fever.
"Sanyukta," Kaustuki murmured.
"Ye dono bhi na, jab bhi gussa ya upset hote hai toh humesha mujhe room ke bahar band kar dete hai!" he cursed. He somehow managed to enter into his hostel room through the window. The sight he saw in front of scared the hell out of him - The room was in a total mess, everything was scattered. Parth's belongings were broken, clothes adorned the ground, the cupboard was lying flat on its height, the bed was upside down and Parth was at a corner lying down clutching something as if it was a precious diamond. Jiggy reluctantly went near him and saw that he was hugging the punching bag Randhir had tagged along because he thought he would need it badly. Parth was himself a total mess - he had bruises everywhere on his body, hair ruffled, eyes swollen, face red, dark bags below the lower eyelids, tear stains on his face and body burning with fever.
"Parth bhai?" Jiggy mumbled.
Kaustuki ordered Sanyukta angrily and made her come to the canteen. At the same time Jiggy also bought Parth to the canteen with great difficulty. They entered the canteen at the same time from the opposite sides. Jiggy and Kautuki made them sit on chairs beside eachother and went to order something for them. Sanyukta enclosed her hands around Parth's hand and kept her head on his shoulder. He kept her head on the back-support of the chair. Both started crying unknowingly again.
At the same time, Vidushi entered into the canteen. She went to the place where Parth and Sanyukta were sitting and called out to them.
"Guys, I have something to tell you'll!" Vidushi told.
She had noticed the tears in their eyes but ignored them as she knew the reason behind those, "Guys?" she told again.
Jiggy and Kaustuki came back to the table with plates full of food.
"Please don't misunderstand me but I have no other choice!" Vidushi told.
"Kya bol rahi ho Vidushi?" Jiggy told.
"Clearly bolo na?" Kastuki demanded.
"Okay fine. Tum sabko pata hai na ki main jahan kaam karti hoon uss company ki band baj gayi hai?" Vidushi told.
Jiggy and Kaustuki nodded their head. Parth and Sanyukta didn't move a blink.
"Toh I have decided to search for a new job and the past two days I had been searching for jobs everywhere but I couldn't find any vacancy. Finally, today I saw an ad in the paper asking for efficient engineers and I decided to apply for it. It is an awesome company," Vidushi told and paused to breathe, "but..." she trailed off.
"But what?" Jiggy asked.
"It is Randhir's company," Vidushi told.
