After a sleepless night Meera decided to phone in sick to work. She was shattered not only due to lack of sleep but also due to Durgas revelation about her and Dharam. Meera decided she would meet her dee one last time and then try to leave Gujurat altogether.
Dharam awoke with a banging headache. He had over indulged in the alcohol last night and was now paying the price. He slowly sat up in bed and saw yesterday's paper on the bedside cabinet. He picked the paper up and violently threw it across the room. The pages of the paper seperated and fluttered to the ground. Dharam slowly got up and staggered to his wardrobe. That's when he saw the advert. The paper was lying face up and wow that girl sure looked like Meera. He snatched the paper up and looked closely. Oh my god. It was her. Dharams headache magically disappeared. He quickly got ready and without speaking to anyone or eating breakfast he left the house.
He drove extremely fast with his foot pressing hard on the excelerator. He nearly knocked a few people down but skilfully managed to avoid them. After about an hour he roared up to 'Hari Kumar Enterprises". He ran up the building steps and burst into the office. Looking around he couldn't see Meera. He grabbed a young man. "Have you seen Meera Suryavanshi"? The young man was terrified. "Nooo sssirr" he stammered. Hari Kumar heard the commotion and came out of his office. "Can I help you"? Dharam realised he was the owner of the business and therefore meeras boss. "Can we talk in your office"? "Sure", Hari lead him into his room. "Take a seat" Hari motioned to the chair. Dharam remained standing. "I'm looking for my wife Meera Suryavanshi". Hari sat back in his chair. He sized up Dharam. He noticed he was a bit older than her and also wealthy. "Why did she leave you"? Hari asked. Dharam explained everything as quickly and as simply as he could. "Then yes I know her" Hari replied. Dharams eyes lit up. "Where is she?I need to see her right away". Hari opened an old rusty filing cabinet and scrolled through the papers. "Here is her address". He handed Dharam Meeras job application form. Dharam ran up to Hari. "Thank you so much" he hugged Hari, his voice cracking with emotion.
As Dharam drove to meeras house he felt a mixture of emotions. Joy and trepidation. How did she feel about him? Surely if she loved him she would have come back to him. Dharam decided he wouldn't force her home but would make sure she is happy and secure where she was. If she didn't want to be his wife that was fine. He loved her enough to let her be free.
Dharam pulled up to a shabby apartment. He was surprised Meera would live somewhere like this, she had grown up in luxury. That was all she had known. Heart beating fast he knocked in her door...and there was no answer. He knocked again. Finally after realising she wasn't home he knocked on a neighbours door. "Have you seen Meera Suryavanshi"? he inquired. "She just left, I don't know where she's gone" the neighbor replied. Dharams heart sank. Maybe she's gone to the bazaar he thought to himself. He decided to wonder the streets to look for her.
Meera sat on a park bench watching the world go by. She was to nervous and excited at the chance of seeing Vidya. She was trying to make time pass quickly so decided to stay out until it was time to meet her. However her plan had failed miserably. Every minute had felt like ten. She found herself constantly looking at her watch. She decided to go to get some food from the bazaar.
By the time Dharam arrived at the bazaar it was already after 6pm. He had slept in late due to his drunken state. Now he felt alert and he was on an adrenaline high. He decided he would look around the bazar for an hour and if he had no luck he would wait outside meeras flat for her return.
The bazaar was packed with people. Dharam wondered around until a voice made him stop in shock. "Ehh you watch your manners". Dharam spun around and saw Meera arguing with a food vendor. He watched her in awe. She looked as stunning as ever and he felt as if his heart would burst out of his chest. He pushed his way through the crowds towards her. "Meera". Meera paused she recognised his voice instantly and spun around. Without thinking she fell into his muscular arms and inhaled his scent. Dharam held her tight relishing the moment and buried his head in her freshly washed hair. Suddenly she came to her senses. Remembering Durgas words she untangled herself from his arms and looked him defiantly in the eye. Dharam was surprised by her glare but neither of them spoke as they held the eye lock.
After what seemed like an eternity but was only a few seconds Dharam cleared his throat. "Meera, what's wrong? how dare you leave like you did" Meera felt her anger begin to rise. Thinking about him and Durga in that room made her irrational. She felt furious. How dare he talk to her like he owned her. She pushed Dharam away from her and fled through the crowds. Dharam tried chasing her but it was almost impossible through the throng of people.
