👏 Wonderful post Anna and great posts raised by you.

No matter how we twisted, in this case Gia got the raw deal.

Gender bias is norm all over the world, and will continue to be so until all women stand together and keep fighting for our rights. I must say we have come long way and yet still have long way to go.

I have experienced it in my professional life as well as in personal life also.

But if we are arguing over mediums and contracts then I only have one question for all those who think that Gia participating in reality show would have effected the character of Gopi. Also why different set of rules for different actors?

What does this say of the audience who view this show? Basically SP and HP and all those who agree with their decision is saying that people of our country our so dumb that they won't know the difference between real and reel.

If they know the difference between a movie and a TV show then they should know the difference between real and reel life, or is different set of intelligence is required for this?

Yes there are some backward people who may not know the difference, but I want to give majority of the audience who watch the show some credit and say that they do know the difference.

In the end lets face the facts here, we will never know what would have happened if Gia had continued to play Gopi while participating in JDJ, but replacing her has definitely brought the show down. I can also say that if Gia was Gopi, the show would not be in the condition it is in today.

We all know the change in the way show is going is not gaining them any brownie points, no matter how much we try to ignore it.

No hard feelings, but I think everyone is now fed up with SNS although for whatever reasons there are people who continue to watch it.

SP and HP and their huge egos will never let them admit that they have made a mistake, it is easy to make a scapegoat out of the actress or let their creatives come up with the stupidest reasons for the downfall of the show.

Well said Shilpa !!! as far as I understand...Gia & Nazim are the leads of the serial...why should they be dfferent contracts for them...& to question the intelligence of the audience & taking them granted is showing the results of the show !!!

@bhavya. An injustice has been carried out against those poor girls by those who should have been supporting them. The situation reminds me of a piece in the book "The Color Purple." whereby the (female) narrator's son is complaining about his wife and he is told by the narrator to beat her. This is just one phrase in the book. The book itself follows the life and hardships of the narrator but that particular sentence has stayed with me.

Ayesha, everyone has a right to follow their dreams, and if Gia chose to follow her dream then I say good for her. But for her PH and SP not to support her in this one thing she wanted to do is wrong.

Plus, it seems no one can make up their mind regarding this, some say she left but SP says they fired her, so what is the truth in this.

In the end though whatever is happening is all good. Besides it shouldn't make a difference to you since you stopped watching the show long time ago. Please don't be offended, I am just stating what you have stated in the past.

And if they wanted the show to continue to be the success it was in the past they wouldn't be showing these stupid tracks that they are showing now.

Don't blame the show's downfall on Gia, if they waned the show to keep going then they would do better than what they are doing. What happened to Ahem and Rashi's redemption, or how about revealing all the KKs.

For gia, she followed her dream, then am glad she done it and went ahead with it,

Am not offended and never be

The stupid tracks have made the show more bakwas than it was so for the show being crap is due to rashmi script. I have seen what she did with raja ki ayegi barat and this show is going the same way, no doubt about it..

Wow Anna.. This is really good post, gender?? Is it a problem for girl.. No not at all.. This is my answer till I was in college ciz I was on first priority in my family, good @ studies, sports.. Actually enjoyed like a boy.. But once I am out of college and when I got the seat in NYIT, USA. My parents said no.. Emotional blackmailing starts.. But my elder bro was there in London doing his masters.. How much ever I beg them.. No luck only reason being a girl I shouldn't go.. Then I lOoked back.. There is always one or other reason I left my wishes just being girl for extra care of parents, bro, uncle, aunties and friends.. Once I enter into corporate world I have come across the reality.. How many ways a woman be harrassed, it is not needed to be a sexual thing.. They are many ppl thinks that girl can no do they can't handle, can't think logically.. Humiliations. It is still more painful when reality is different.. Where a lady works day and night but praise will go to some so called gentleman.. Only thing girl should speak up and fight.. But we also see what will happen when a girl speaks up.. The other lady in first row says she is arrogant, in discipline, proud, head weight, selfish.. Something to happened to giaa, she raised her voice and fought for her rights this ppl sacked in the nAme of Brecht of non existed contract..( I just said it in my view, nobody need to change their views here) so what I say finally women always face the issue from dressing to maintaining heir character... Some might be harsh.. Some might with emotional senti dialogs..

Its okay Ayesha, I too stopped watching it, but still read WU and come on the forum, because like you I am also attached to it.

And as for the rant, we are all feeling the same and taking out our frustration at the way the show is being ruined, and it is always okay to rant.

I just wish RS had done something different with SNS instead of same bakwas as her other shows.

agree shilpa it is so convinient to say Gia is responsible for the show's downfall where as she even a week back said she was ready to manage both !!!

But now even Ahem & Rashi's redemption will not bring back the glory which SNS was associated with when Gia was part of the show !!!

Gender bias is a worldwide concept and it is not unique to India only.

A lot of why this occurs is due to cultural outlook, religion and its practice, customs and traditions broadly speaking. Within this at other levels its government laws and policies, company policies and procedures that further defines specifics.

In this case breaching a contract when in employment can happen to anyone, including any of us who are employed. This has nothing to do with gender bias.

i saw a video in youtube in which giaa herself stated that she has not quit the show.channel had pblm with her for doing jhalak, they brought me into this world and they hav cut off her wings and all.so i dont think she quit the show.she cannot simply quit the show of a big channel...starplus was least bothered abt giaa .dats y in the beginning itself they told rashmi to let giaa go off and replace her in the show.producer can do only wat the channel asks ryt?we cannot blame giaa also .it was her dream to participate in jhalak.everybody has the right to follow their dreams but her timing was inappropriate.star plus wont loose anything.they only had gains .they made a scapegoat out of an actress.abt future of sns .they may introduce new shows and will make money out of it
