Part 11
After Gopi takes blessings from everyone she ask where Baa is, Koki tells her Baa is in her room, Gopi ask if she can go meet Baa, Koki nods her head
Gopi goes to Baa's room, Baa is resting, she goes to her and touches her feet, and Baa wakes up and sees Gopi.
Baa: Gopi! With tears in her eyes, am I dreaming?
Gopi: goes to Baa and says, nahi Baa, its me. Jai Shree Krishna Baa
Baa: where have you been? You didn't miss your Baa
Gopi: yes I missed you, I missed you the most, Baa hugs Gopi and start crying, but Gopi does not cry, not like she used to, when she cried for every little thing
Baa notices the change in Gopi and is sad, because she is not the same Gopi from before, this Gopi has learned to hide her feelings from everyone, even her, she has grown up too quick, she lost her innocence and naiveness in the past 3 months. But then Baa thinks that's good, now she will be able to take care of herself. Baa and Gopi talk for a while, then Koki comes to get them to eat dinner.
It is lively dinner, all the elders were happy because Gopi was back, Jigar also very happy, Rashi and Kinjle are only person not happy at the table. Ahem is usual quiet self, he is happy that him mom finally happy and doesn't look as tense.
When its time to go to sleep, Gopi asks Koki if she could stay in the guest room, Koki starts to protest, but Gopi interrupts and says, Maji I don't sleep good at night, I am afraid my nightmares will come back and I will disturb Ahemji, please let me just stay in the guest room, Koki looks at Parag, who nods his head and she agrees,
Ahem was at the door, and heard what Gopi said and it confused him, his thinking what kind of nightmares is she having, and what does she mean she does not sleep good at night? Did she have the same problems before, and how come he did not notice?
As Gopi is walking out of Koki's room, she notices Ahem standing there she looks at him for few seconds, thinking I hope he didn't hear that, and walks past him, Ahem was about to say something but stops and lets her go, because he really did not know what to say to her.
He goes into his parents room, and says to Koki, mom what is wrong with her? How come she is like this? She is different, did she have problems like this before?
Koki is sad hearing this, as is Parag, Koki says, Ahem you are not yet ready to hear about what she has gone thru, as you are not sure of your feelings, just be glad she is back for now, and there won't be any problems for Kinjle's wedding. Ahem was going to argue, but changed his mind, because he knew his mom won't share any information with him now.
Koki says to Parag and Ahem, I am glad we were able to bring her back, I am going to give her few days to settle than invite Mehta's to dinner. After a while Ahem goes to his room and lays down on the bed, thinking about the conversation he heard, but he was unable to figure out what it all meant, he finally slept.
Gopi did not have any nightmares that night, like she feared, but her sleep was restless, she woke up early and got ready, she then went downstairs and started getting things ready for morning arti, after she was done with that she went in the kitchen and started preparing breakfast, it was as though she never left, she went right back into her routine, but this time with more confidence.
When everyone woke up and came down, they were all pleasantly surprised and happy, they praised Gopi. Rashi thinking, here we go again, I am going to have to do something about this, Kinjle roll her eyes and twists her mouth. Ahem just looks at Gopi, who not even once glances at him, it was as if he didn't exist, she completely ignores him. She does the arti and offers at to everyone, she saves him for last. When she comes near him, his thinking now she will have to look at me, but she never looks up just offers him the arti and once he takes it she walks away without looking at him, this upsets him, but he doesn't know why he is hurt that she ignored him.
Everyone sits down to eat the breakfast made by Gopi and are happy that things are getting better at the MM. Koki tells the family she wanted to invite the Mehta's for dinner in few days, everyone agrees and says it a good idea. Hetal reminds Koki in few days it will be teej, so all the ladies of house will be fasting, and they should invite the Mehta's after that and Koki agrees. After breakfast all the men go to the office and the ladies start getting things ready for teej.

Part 12
On the day of teej, Gopi once again, is up early, but today she in her traditional Gujarati style of wearing sari, hair still same, parted to side, small amount of sindoor, and minimum make up. Once again she is getting things ready for the day, Koki comes down and notices Gopi already up and working.
Koki to Gopi: Jai shree Krishna Gopi vahu
Gopi: Jai shree Krishna Maji
Koki: looks at Gopi and says you did not sleep well for past few nights?
Gopi: I have, but kept waking up, but I am ok
Rest of the family comes down to the mandir, and the arti begins, once again Gopi offers arti to everyone and once again ignores Ahem.
Ahem was getting hurt everyday that she does not even look at him anymore, he also noticed she looked tired and was moving slowly today then he remembers she would be fasting today, but he questions even that, would she even be fasting today for him? He does not know why he is feeling this way, after all isn't this what he wanted, for her to be out of his life forever, so why does it feel wrong now? He is asking himself, is he starting to care for her? Why does it hurt when she ignores him? Koki calls out to him to come eat breakfast.
Ahem goes to the dinning room and sits down, Gopi is in the kitchen bringing breakfast out, when she sets the breakfast out and starts to serve everyone, but all of a sudden Ahem refuses breakfast, and says mom I am really not hungry, I have some important work I need to take care of before I go to the office, I will be in my room, he then leave. Gopi watches him leave and is sad, thinking he is still the same, he did not even want to eat the breakfast made by her.
Ahem is in his room, thinking I can't see her like this anymore, she is so quiet and does not even smile anymore, she treats everyone same as before, but she is keeping her distance from everyone, he didn't even see her talking to his Hetal Kaki like before, it is almost as though, she thinks everyone will turn against her any minute, she has closed her heart to everyone, and he knows his family has noticed this also and are puzzled as he is, except for his mom and dad, who seems to understand what she is going thru.
Mani comes in Ahem's room with breakfast and green tea for him, he asks Mani why she brought the breakfast he was not hungry, Mani hesitates and says, Gopi bhabhi said for me to make breakfast for you, she also said for you to eat this, since she did not make this breakfast, Ahem is shocked and ashamed that unknowingly he had hurt Gopi by refusing to eat breakfast, he tell Mani to take the breakfast back and to tell Gopi that he was really not hungry, it wasn't because it was made by her. Mani takes the breakfast back.
Ahem is realizing now that Gopi is only strong on the outside, but she is still just fragile as before and could by hurt by small things, he knows he is going to have to win her trust slowly, he now realizes she ignores him because she does not want to be hurt by him. He is going to have earn her trust, in order for him to come close to her and he realizes that he does want to come close to her and explore this feelings he starting to have for her.
Mani brings the breakfast tray back and tells Gopi what Ahem had said. Gopi is puzzled as why he did not eat, she tells Mani to help her with lunch so they could send lunch for everyone at the office, may be he will eat then.
Koki comes in the kitchen and ask them what they were doing, Gopi explains to her they were going to send lunch at office today, and she was getting things ready for that
Koki asks her why the hurry, Gopi tell her since Ahemji did not eat breakfast, she thought she would send lunch early, he might be very hungry by then
Ahem outside the kitchen hears this and thinks she must care for me at least little if she is worried about me not eating, and he gets hope that may be it won't take him long to win her trust is she cares for him.
Koki also pleased with Gopi's response smiles and puts her hand on Gopi's head and caresses her head and blesses her. Koki now also hoping that things between Gopi and Ahem would work out, she has noticed Ahem looking at Gopi differently.
Ahem back up because he did not want Gopi to see him, he takes few steps back and calls out for his mom. He comes to the kitchen and stops, notices Gopi turned away from him, still looking at Gopi he says mom I am going to the office, Koki notices he is talking to her but looking at Gopi, and she get an idea, she says to him before you go we have a ritual we need to do on this day, come with me, she also tells Gopi to come with them.
Gopi looks up and stares straight at Ahem, they both look away from each other, and follows Koki to outside garden where rest of the family is waiting.
Koki explains that on this day each husband gift a sari to their wife to wear on that day because they are fasting for the husbands long life. Gopi gets nervous and thinks why is Maji doing this, now everyone will feel sorry for me because Ahemji will would not want to do this. Ahem notices Gopi biting her lip and looking nervous, she looked like she was going to run any moment, and he knew why, but he has decided he won't disappoint her or his mom today, he was going to surprise her with his attitude.
Jigar (since he is the youngest) starts, he gives his gift to Rashi, their relationship is now strained, he does not know if he should forgive her for her part in the situation with Gopi. He can also see that Rashi did not think she did anything wrong, and he is very disappointed by her attitude. He is beginning to see the real Rashi behind the pretty face. Rashi thinks, just wait Jigarji I will win you and your mother over again, just like before. She smiles at Jigar and thanks him, but he ignores her and stands back. Rashi looks over at Heatal and smiles, but she also ignores Rashi.
Koki hands a box to Ahem to give to Gopi, he takes it and goes towards her, she is not looking at him, she is looking down, heart pounding, he stops in front of her and waits for her to look at him, she slowly looks up at him, and shocked to see him smiling and holding the box out to her, she takes the box from him still looking at him, Ahem stands beside her. Parag goes over to Koki and jokes with her, sorry Koki I forgot your gift, Koki looks mad and was about blast him, but notices he is hiding something behind his back and says it ok, I already have a new sari, everyone looks at Parags disappointed face and laughs because he wasn't expecting that response from Koki. He says to her I was joking, she says I know, so was I. He hand her the box and says tell you the truth I did forget, but Gopi had reminded me last night, other wise you would be blasting me now, everyone laughs and he says thank you to Gopi, she give him a small smile
Ahem looking at her proudly and thinking finally she smiled for first time since she has come back. He was proud that she cared for his mom like this and didn't let his father forget the most important day for him mom, he decided to thank her later.
After Parag and Hetal finishes the rituals, all the men leave for the office. Gopi goes back to the kitchen to finish lunch and to get things ready for that night.
