All I am asking for is to cut the crap and make the shows more relevant to an intelligent audience. We don't want the stupid sounds of artificial thunder when two characters in the show disagree with each other or wailing background music when a contestant is eliminated.

Agreed - thats the most irritating part of these shows... that woos away a lot of really musically interested folks from these shows.... If thats the case with us viewers, I am sure its worse for the aspirants! How I wish that there were separate parameters to measure the success of musical shows rather than the highly irrelevant TRP.. I think that would have solved quite a few issues...
