Despite delivering a super hit with his acting debut Aap Kaa Surroor, Himesh Reshammiya is finding it difficult to get the right leading lady opposite him for his Karz remake. Industry sources claim that all the desired names the makers are approaching are turning the project down.
"Many top names had been approached for the role of Tina Munim's from the original but they are not too keen on doing the Karz remake with Himesh. The main reason being they are pretty much sure it will be a total one-man show from the musician-singer turned actor with entire focus on himself. Plus, even after AKS being declared a hit, its leading lady, Hansika Motwani got totally sidelined. The entire credit went to the capped singer. No popular actress today would like to play second fiddle in any set up," says a source.
But, the Karz remake director Satish Kaushik, clarifies, "Nope it is not true. We are presently working on the script. It is expected to be ready by next week. Only then the heroine's character cache will be clearer to us. After that, we can be sure what kind of actresses - either newcomers or established names - to approach. The original Karz had Tinu Munim's character playing a high school gal. We can't have that in today's times. There are many changes being made for the film keeping in mind the present times but with the story's soul intact."
Kaushik adds before signing off, "The film will be set abroad and will have its own distinct look. Himesh had delivered one of his earliest and biggest hits of his musical career, Tere Naam with me. I am confident we will recreate the same magic yet again."
