Your Opinion for this week's shows

Hello Friends,

This week (28th & 29th Sept)we will reach the top 3 of the Agnipareeksha Round and will lose one bright spark 😭.

After last week's disgusting display of TRP gimmicks this week we are back again to watch two spectacular episodes with outstanding performances.👏

The episode of Friday promises to be a milestone episode of the contemporary musical shows as this week on friday, only music will rule the show like olden days of SRGM and SRGMP !!!!!👏

We have plenty of things to look up for this week- the mindblowing perfromances , the heartaches💔😭 to see a talent leave & the sighs of relief , On friday we have the Ghazal and Semi Clasiical and Classical round with Pt. Jasraj ji and Jagjit Singh Ji as the guest and get set for a grand time on Saturday, in the company of OSO team !

28th Sept, 2007 is a important day in the history of musical shows. C2007 standard that will take a long time for any other shows to come close or surpass. After ages, we got what we all wished for a long long time.... complete focus on quality music and nothing else.👏

The entire packaging was good. The set, the song selection, the judges, the behaviour of the mentors, the astounding performances of the participants, it was absolutely divine..!!!

The start of the show set the mood . It was so nice to hear Pt.Jasraj ji and Jagjit Singh ji sing on the SRGMP stage....👏

Now for the Rounds :

Round 1 :

Raja : He gave a real good start to the show. All those critics who talked about Raja's versatility, well here is the newsflash for you.A singer who sings Kailash Kher and Sukhwinder songs can do justice to a Ghulam Ali ghazal as well. He was awesome !

Aneek : His song selection could have been better but whatever he got he put his soul into the song. The voice immaturity was a little evident in the lower notes, but then he is only 18 years , how can anyone expect him to have the most matured voice. He got the feel and sur perfect.

Poonam: Her start was a bit weak and unsure, but from the antara she picked up and after that it was simply divine, she poured out her soul. amazing !!!

Amanat : He was the show stealer in this round. He was simply mindblowing! Hearing him who would say that one was listening to a singing contest performance, it sounded more like a concert. The little breathing noise, well it is something that can be easily corrected, and despite that the impact was simply divine...he ruled...

Round 2 :

Aneek : Wow, to sing a Manna De song and that too so effortlessly, if that is not credibility then what else is !!!!

His tarana is something I will rememebr for a long time.he was just FABULOUS !!!!!!

Raja : Raja started well, shook up a bit and then picked up. Somehow certain words in his version sounded shorter because he did the murkiyas a little differently. However, it sounded quite OK, but yes he could have done a little better.

Poonam : this song has not one but multiple raagas and the transition is so fluid that it is so difficult to distinguish them.For a singer who has no classical singing training, she was simply divine...PERFECT...and her Taans.....Oh my God.... they were simply outstanding !!!

Amanat : now he was singing one of my fav songs. He sang very well, did full justice to it.

I somehow like the original track more than this one.

Ismail Darbar Saab has groomed his participants very well. He has made Amanat and Poonam sing some of the most tough songs instead of sticking to popular songs.

She is one loved girl , that was obvious, from the reactions of the mentors, her fellow participants, host and everyone present there when she was leaving. It was quite sad to see her go. She will be remembered for a long long time and so will be this show....

Poonam's exit was really sentimental.I hope Zee SRGMP gifts her a training program with some distinguished guru.They had done so for Rajeev before. This girl has a bright future and can go really far.

Hats off Zee C2007 for taking the show to a new height. This show will tell if just "only music packages" sell or not. When there is talent , why need anything else...

Yet to get over the effects of Amanat's master class...today Amanat, and the whole show in general, reminded me of what this show was all about in the early days...good songs, great singing n switching off the TV with a smile on the lips, feeling richer than Bill Gates!! 😃

I have been watching SRGM from the very first episode and I can say this episode is surely one of the top 5 episodes ever. Earlier we have seen similar episodes in the Mega Finals.

Today it was a genuine musical show. The judges were perfect, song selections were perfect, the sets were perfect, and the atmosphere was perfect too.

Now coming to performances

First Round

Raja : Outstanding. He took my breath away. PERFECT. No words.

Aneek: Not the best choice of song. Sounded weak in the lower notes, but never went Besura. The young voice got magnified on the base notes. I personally was not very impressed.

Amanat: Sang like a professional singer. I was amazed to see that he even maintained the breathlessness of Ghulam Ali saab. When ever Ghulam Ali saab sings live, you will get a feeling that he will need an oxygen cylinder right now. Amanat's performance was the best ghazal performance I have ever heard by an amateur singer. OUTSTANDING.

Poonam: As I have said many many times earlier that Poonam needs to work on her ending notes. The leaves the ending notes too quickly. She does not have the sustain effect in her singing. That effect is very important. That effect gives the song a pleasing feel. Other than that, she was very good.

Second Round

Aneek: Tumhare saare paap dhul gaye. Kya gaya chotu ne. Dil khush kar diya. Singing a Manna Dey'semi-classical song is not easy. Even Rafi saab used to get very nervous if he had to sing a song with Manna Dey.

When it came to the "Tarana" part, Aneek showed his class. Just AMAZING. Tingu mein bahat dum hai. Only one fault in this song. He pronounced "Najre" instead of "Nazre" Chalta hai. Bengali's are always famous for their Hindi speaking ability. Look at Bappi Da.

Raja: Raja started of very well with the alaap, and mukhra was very well sung. He was quite shaky at the beginning of the first antara. But he recovered very quickly and was very good again. Remaining song was AWESOME.

Just heard the song again. Raja always dropped a murki in Payaliya. He never sang the original payaliya. He too was struggling with the lower notes. The original song has a movement that gives a feeling as if the surs are gliding in the clouds. That was missing too. Sur bahat khare lag rahe the.

Amanat: This has been my dream song for a long long time. Amanat was FANTASTIC, but I was not very impressed by his performance.

This fusion composition is by Parthiv, not Ismail Darbar. ID, please don't take credit for something that is not yours. Parthiv has made a fusion of eastern and western music with this bandish. I have heard this fusion live twice by Parthiv in concerts. So, I was comparing the performances in my mind. So, was a bit disappointed. I was expecting a much better performance by Amanat similar to Parthiv's. But still he was FANTASTIC.

Finally POONAM: She stole the whole show with her TAANS. Yeh gaana gaane mein bahat himmat chahiye. The only other person who showed the courage to sing this song was SHREYA at the age of 14 in SRGM Mega finals. KAAMMAL KI GAYI POONAM.

Best Performances of today:

Raja First Round, Amanat First Round, Aneek Second Round, Amanat Second Round, Poonam Second round.

Poonam was eliminated, and she made everyone cry. 😭

The highlight of the show is Shekhar. He has given some wonderful comments today just like a pure classical singer.

SATURDAY'S EPISODE

Although Raja sang the most popular songs today, but performancewise Aneek was just SUPERB.

The first song that Aneek sang was just mindblowing. A slow number on slow waltz beat and covering three octaves is really really difficult to sing. The feel that Aneek poured into the song is just outstanding. 10 points is just too low for that performance.

On the second song Aneek's modulations were just out of this world.

Coming to Amanat. The first song was very well sung, but going on the higher notes sounded a little strained. Mitwa was the second song that Amanat sang. But he performed this song way better in his introductory episode. His sargam did not appeal the way it did in his first performance.

Raja was very very good in Dard-e-Disco. But a song that is already on the top of the charts is always an upper hand. With that kind of high voltage beats it is very easy to cover up the smaller mistakes.

Chaiyya chaiyya was again a wonderful performance. As I have said many times before and say it again that Raja is the king of high notes. I did not think he will carry of "Yaar Misaale Os Chale Panv Ke Tale Firdaus Chale, Kabhi Daal Daal Kabhi Paat Paat Main Hawa Pe Dhoondho Uske Nishaan" so well. FANTASTIC. However, it seemed that his voice was little strained, and he swallowed few words today during this song. There were some mumbling.

But still pesonally I feel that Aneek was the BEST today.
