Personally, I think Sumedha's singing is beautiful, but I don't really prefer her type of singing. It's bittersweet in a way.

And as far as Mauli's popularity goes-- think about it. India's Westernizing slowly. (Dear Lord, have you heard of that movie Marigold? Someone shoot me) Mauli... her singing... it's fresh, it's new, it's different, it has that western pizzazz to the Desi world. She's got spunk with a Desi touch, not even gonna lie.

Living in the US, I'm so used to that type of singing (it's overplayed in my head... sick of it) that it doesn't appeal to me anymore. That's why I don't absorb Mauli's singing and find it particularly amazing. That's probably why many others don't like it either.
It's based on taste.

But considering she's in an Indian singing contest, I'm not surprise she's hitting it big.

People who just bash on anyone verily need to grow up and consider logic before making ninny assertions. How old are we again? Yeah, that's right.

I wasn't bashing.

I said that Mauli is hyped too much and Sumedha is underhyped. How many times have you heard Sumedha being promoted?

When has Bappi said said anything great to her?
