T Ji, a really wonderful analysis.. 👏 👏 👏
Though I am not a Raja fan, I do appreciate ur thoughts and analysis of what goes behind Raja being a crowd puller.
And the same factors which u've listed will led him to be the winner. (I know this for sure though personally I want Amanat to win)

Thanks for the appreciation, Lifeztuf ji!

Amanat is one of my favourites as well. Superb technical singer.

The analysis is dot on.....👏

But more importantly it's written at a time when we needed someone to sit down and analysis this enigma called Raja.....

He is a crowd puller...but there is naivity in his presence that wants you to root fo him...👍🏼

And the best part is when you wrote "he does not take his success for granted.....!!!"

I so agree with that part..........

T....Very well written post!!!!!!👏

Tanaz ji,
agree with your analysis. I have often wondered after watching some of his phenomenal performances "How the hell did this guy end up in Eklavya gharana?".

One of the things I like best about his singing (other than his fantastic offbeat voice) is how he makes the song even better than the original rendition by making his own modifications. I remember one of the mentors saying after one of his performances (probably after 'Allah ke bande') that usually when somebody changes the original song, it is jarring to the listener but that in his case, that did not happen. He is truly gifted. I hope he wins it all.

Tanaz,

There's one point you have missed. Raja represents the great Indian middle class dream. And that is precisely why, inspite of all criticisms of him in the forum, he will continue to top public voting - as long as Zee does not manipulate. He has everything the middle-class aspiration asks for - the next door boy look, humility, fighting spirit, the perfect son/husband/brother image and the ability to make it big.

If you look at heroes in other fields - like Dhonis, Tendulkars, Shahrukhs - each one has succeeded because the middle class has backed them.

Not sure, if you, out there in Toronto would agree or relate to this, but all this wouldn't have mattered had he not been a wonderful singer.

Amanat is another favourite of mine. If I have time, I might do an analysis on him too.

Ashish please drop the "ji" 😆

Yes, I think Ismail said it after he modified Kachche Dhaage. Raja has enough sense not to completely change the song, but just add little touches to make it different.

Excellent addition on the "middle-class dream" there, Manish. That's the kind of extra stuff I was looking for when I posted the article.

The bolded line is something that I mentioned even in my article. I personally would not have supported Raja if he were not an excellent singer. The great thing about him is that he is a complete package - singer plus performer. That is a very rare combination in reality show contestants.
