Karan ka band bajaa

Actor-turned-singer-turned-anchor Karan Oberoi accuses Zee of giving him step-motherly treatment. He has threatened to quit Antakshari if his grievances are not addressed immediately

Agitated over the fact that the common creative team of Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Titan Antakshari is neglecting Titan Antakshari altogether, host Karan Oberoi says, "I know that Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is a big show and they are promoting it in a big way… but I cannot tolerate their step-motherly attitude towards Antakshari!"

Miffed at the state of affairs, Karan has decided to quit the show. "I have been getting many offers but I accepted Antakshari on the condition that they won't interfere with creative inputs. If they don't address my problem I will not be a part of the second schedule!" Karan says firmly.

Karan, a pat of Band of Boys, shares a great rapport with the contestants and bonds well with the contestants. "Everyone knows I am friendly and jovial on the sets so that it looks good on screen. Moreover, the show becomes spontaneous as they feel easy on the sets. But, when I see the episodes on screen, all the friendly laughs are missing, and it's shocking!" Karan adds.

Unlike his predecessor Sunil Pal, Karan also shows his dancing and singing skills. "Antakshari is a music based show, singing and dancing just add value and jazz to the show. But they always edit all those bits. As an artiste I feel this is really cruel on their part," says Karan.

Karan feels that the TRPs of the show have increased manifold because they have given their blood and sweat to the show. He has been shooting day in and day out just to make sure that the show looks good. "I always shoot two or three hours more than what is required. But whatever is happening is unfortunate," he says.

However, Payaol Patel, creative head of the show seems clueless about the development. "We shoot for four hours, and it has to be edited to 20 minutes. Everything cannot go on air. I know he is perfect as a host and creatively involved with the show. I didn't know things had heated up so much. He wanted to meet us before the second schedule. I am sure he will calm down," says Payaol.

Poor man... bad career move for him. The quality of the Antakshri show - Zee's baby - has steadily decreased, especially since the departure of the original crew of the show.

Having seen and read interviews of Karan as well as a couple of performances of the Band of Boys, I can well imagine how much they edit out...and do a miserable job of it. He's got a good sense of humour and is very full of josh. Bada hi stilted lagta hai, jo bhi dikhaate hai.

Zee-team truly has gone over the top with SRGMP. Jitna taam-jhaam SRGMP me hai, usko kam karke kuch attention Antakshri ko bhi dete to both shows would be super-powers in the TV circuits.

First they have to get that water puddle off the set.....😆😆😆....and next thing...get that Tarbooz umpire out of there....that just 🤬....I have only bad things to say about Antakshari...Even Himani, my female SRGMP favorite has lost her voice in that show, it is that 🤬😆

😆 Couldn't agree more Mannu. The water from that puddle is much needed to throw on some people at SRGMP to cool them down 😉

yaar...simi, what bad career choices?! the sad sad boy band who have two albums and ONE song thats good out the two! he was on Jassi and they killed him off now i think he worried he might break his leg from that lil chilloo bhar ka paani on the sets 😆

On one hand he's saying they are neglecting the show, and on the other hand he's saying they are interfering with creative inputs.

Doesn't that sound contradictory to anyone else? 😕

is it me or has Titan Antakshari always had such issues? I remember Kirti Gaikwad had complained about running thru the water and another similar incident had happened later. What's going on 🤢
