i like her singing better than other two singers but coz asha ji is orthodox and she does not like these kind of songs so she had to go and i think on national tv these songs can be avoided.Even i like to sing but i will think 100 times before i sing this kind of song.

I dunno exactly wat made the judges eliminate koyal, but i think it must have been her besura awaz . other two girls sang better than her, in my opinion. if it was choice of song, that is unfair coz judges r supposed to see voice quality.

nothing wrong with it. it's the new millenium's version of asha's 60s (and 70s?) cabaret songs. pretty steamy stuff, those songs. 😉 for some reason, it's bad when you sing this song on TV, but it's fine when you have it in movies that have greater audiences watching. no negative messages on bhartiya-sanskriti then 😛 😉

oh, and i thought the girl who was eliminated sang better than the other two females, if only because she was less besurili. 😊

I don't know much about appropriateness, I live in the US for god's sake, but I do know one thing. I watch SRGMP with my parents and when she sang that song, I cringed.

I don't particularly like that song anyways, so I might be biased but I really don't think it is a 'family' song per se, and SRGMP is a family show.

I agree HR always overdoes everything...Always trying to sell his mentees....Asha Bhosle is definitely one of the mature and much more talented singer than HR...That guy irritates me after a while....Anyway his sur/ music is pretty boring and same all the time...only diff words....

She can definitely improve her throw but not the voice quality. But on the other hand, Koyal's yesterday's song was totally besura and today whatever Ghulam Ali told was absolutely true. She gives more emphasis on words rather than sur!!! Anyone having classical background can find out that Shresta wasn't besura y'day and today whereas Koyal was. On a show like Sa Re Ga Ma, I was wondering how judges selected such besura people like Koyal in the prel. auditions??? That too an exp one like Bappi Da.

I completely agree! 😃😃

It's a combination of everything. When that song was first sung by Himani in
front of Kumar Sanu and Anandji?, it was after she was sick and had to learn
a song quickly so when she pulled it off, everyone applauded. Then Ujjaini
sang it and for some reason got very low marks on the song though she was
praised by the singer of the song Kunal G and by Diya mirza ( as if anyone
cares). It is not a bad song but I don't think it was neccessary to sing it in
front of Asha Bhosle and Ghulam Ali. A song that it approrpriate for a movie
may nto come off so well when a young lady sings it on stage and these
contestants seem quite young (college age or younger). SRGM is a famiy
show and that song should be retired immediately! I dont' appreciate my
young children hearing that song either.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the song...when people can enjoy nude scenes of mallika sherawat, then they can definitely listen to a song...and mdroy your kids are going to hear that song no matter how hard you try to stop or prevent them...its 2007 people...i really think indians can be hypocrites sometimes...if they do it then its all hunky dorey but when someone else does it, everything goes haywire...i personally like that song...old songs were worse than this...i rather hear this song with my parents than husn ke lakhon rang...or piya tu ab...or asha bhosle's song...chooke dekh kaha kaha...hypocrites i tell you....hypocrites...
