Appada, I somehow differ here.. whats there when such judges are judging the shows.. The theme was new songs and the singers have no restrictions on what song they choose.. A singer has to be chosen based on their voice, sur, taal etc.. not the choice or wordings of the song.. When Ujjaini or Himani sang none of them raised a question, Has this song become bold in just 2 years of time??

Ujjaini wasn't singing in front of Ghulam saab.

I do agree with Appada on this. It's not a matter of the song having become more bold over two years. It was a matter of the fact that the audience just wasn't appropriate. And Ujjaini had sung it with such finesse that objections weren't raised towards the lyrics. I was uncomfortable just listening to it in front of my grandparents.

Koyal and Bappida should have both realized this was a song she couldn't pull off. Her pitch was off, she was besurili throughout and the delivery lacked the punch the song had behind it.

Ghulam saab did not comment towards the contents of the song..he made a point of the pitch and throw over certain words.

Similarly Ashaji commented on choosing songs that reflect the fact that you're from India. It was definitely an indirect jibe at HR (one I didn't mind in the least bit 😆). However, there's a bit of truth within that. There are many other popular songs out there that would have been better suited to present in front of these judges. Both for the sake of their understanding the content and judging the technical aspects. Koyal failed on both accounts. Who knows where the blame lies ... that is to say, who knows who chooses the songs the singers present. If it wasn't Koyal, it was chosen to instigate something between Ashaji and Himesh. If it was by Koyal, poor choice on her part and poor lack of judgement and understanding on Bappida's part.

Ashaji could not look beyond the lyrics
and the song needs to be sung with an oomph

Oh there was an oomph factor alright! As soon as she started her rendition my ears and head felt it... much like a punch to the stomach. Certainly made me to "oomph"

The song first needs to be sung in sur and taal and proper pitch..then she can work on the oomph. It was lacking all...which speaks of poor judgement 😕

Well its people's own point of view.. Its how you perceive it.. I felt there is nothing wrong in singing this song in front of Ashaji or Ghulam Ali sahab.. Maybe she would hv felt comfortable to sing this song and so chose this one.. I think Bappida should have spoken about it.. He just kept mum when that point araised.. MD came and justified that it wasnt he who chose the song for her, Koyal didnot counter him.. Bappida if he had felt that this song was bold to sing in front of Ashaji, then why did he allow her to sing this song?? He should have definitely spoken few words or is it that Koyal chose this song inspite of him saying NO to this?? Well, who knows what goes back stage..

Moreover why blame Himesh here?? He was just the composer and not lyricist.. Blame the lyricist if someone wants to counter - why Himesh

and I guess the song was also not for today. It looked so out of place in the ambience...😕

Bappida ko achanak kya huya...He should have known which song suited for judges like these.

bappi didnt pick the song....the music director picked it...the music director wanted controversy thats why....
