Thanks Priya.....I am not new here but since I don't post my comments because of lack of time you guys don't know me....I wish I could interact more....but that will take away most of the time at my job.

I have yet to meet a person who does not enjoy the song in my siggy.... I heard that Jaidev was a very shy person and he along with manna dey, Bhupendra, Arun Paudwal and R.D. Burman were part of sd burman's music team, and he was senior assistant to S.D. Burman....he got to do the music of movie Hum Dono, because S.D. Burman was sick....His each composition turned out to be a jem...alla tero naam, har fikr ko, kabhi khud pe....etc..

Navketan Production and Sunil Dutt were so impressed with his creations...that Navketan decided sd burman and jaidev to alternate as music directors for their upcoming movies....and Sunil Dutt gave him 'Mujhe jeene do' right away and then 'Reshma aur Shera' later. But SD Burman was a tough competition for Jaidev in film music politics....so he never became popular.......and kept creating music, but never got married, and never had money to buy a home....

Hi Sarita, my name is Neeru Kapoor....seems like I am perceived as neer from UK...but I dont know how U and K became capital letters, when I registered at the forum.........and I cannot believe that you know these songs and films....they are so old........I have not heard dil jawan aarzo jawan...who sang that? and how can I listen to that song?....I love 'gham ki andheri raat'....and also 'har saans ashque baar hai' from Kinare Kinare. I am sure you must have heard his non filmi compositions sung by Asha Bhosle...aali re mere naina, na main ladi thee and main chaman mein chahe jahan rahun....they are just so so melodious with minimal background music.😊.

You bet Jaidev was awesome and the song in your tag-line is something I swoon over even now! There are two other compositions of his that are simply splendid - 'Dil jawaan hai aarzoo jawaan' from Samundari Daakoo and the other one is 'Subah zaroor aayegi, subah ka intezaar kar' from Sushila.

Yes that song from Kinare Kinare is lovely! Btw, you can hear 'Dil jawaan hai aarzoo jawaan' in if you look under the list of music directors and click on Jaidev. I LOVE old Hindi film songs. It's something that my sis and I grew up on, because my mom used to keep playing many of these songs on our little tape-recorder.

Pity, but I haven't heard the songs you've mentioned, i.e. his non-filmi songs sung by Asha. Is there any online source, where I can access it?

"Subah zaroor aayegi" was NOT composed by Jaidev. It was C. Arjun!

Who on earth is C.Arjun?😕

wow It was great to know about Raju. He is one of my fav contestant. When I heard his audition song "Tum ko Bhi" from KANK, I just said wow! The guy has the potential.

I had missed the audition rouund as I was on a long vacation. Later the new lot got a chance to audition for the competition, I was selected among the 24 contestant.

Raju you have a amazing voice. Way to go!
