meri jaan mujhe jaan na kaho meri jaan
koi chupke se aake sapne saja ke,mujhko jagake bole
phir kahin koi phool khila,chahat nakaho isko..

these were some of geeta's last songs,how incredible she sounded!kanu roy- her brother did he compose for any other film apart from aavishkar(hasne ki chaah ne itna mujhe rulaaya hai...)..was he more prolific in bengali films?

Same movie ka doosara song 'Ha maine bhi pyar kiya' is also good.

Ankita,

Anubhav and Avishkaar songs are my favorites too... Both Geeta Dutt and Manna Dey sung some of their very good songs for Kanu Roy.

In addition to the 2 films above, Kanu Roy gave music to Usaki Kahani, Tumhara Kallu, Sparsh, Grihapravesh. It was Basu Bhattachaya who used Kanu Roy most of the times.

And, aaj ki kaali ghata, mast matvali ghata -- Geeta Dutt's song is from Usaki Kahani

is jaydev in the list..he must have composed about for a dozen films...

would bhupen hazarika be considered a lesser known composer?... or is he ruled out due to being a singer?... i really like the song "dil hoom hoom kare" (rudaali)... relating it to SRGMP 😉 - i loved it when diwakar sang this song- really touched my heart 😊

The song which placed him among high class music directors was 'Sab Kuchh Lutaya Hamne Aakar Teri Gali Me..' sung by Mohammed Rafi and written by Mulk Raj Bhaakri from the movie Chunariya.

Another very famous song is Jaha dal dal pe sone ki chidiya karti hai basera wo bharat desh hai mera.
