OK - lets do a quick check here, who is saying what 😊:

Jadoo says - Public voting is the way to go.

Barnali'di agrees to Jadoo and both think that one vote per viewer should be counted (not sure how)

Abhi says - Depends on the format of the show. If its something like C05 - 50-50 is the way to go. Since C07 seems to be the next thing in SRGMP horizon, lets keep that in focus for the timebeing

Shady says - Have the judges screen the initial bunch of contestants and give the cream to audience. Let the audience decide after that.

Jaya says - At any stage of the contest, have a 50-50 weightage of Judges + Audience opinions.

Any other takers here?

😆 Good example to start with - I think we will have max confusion if we apply this rule between 2 contestants 😉 With more number of people - the chances to even out are better 😛

So in a game of say 3 people if its A, B, C as per the judges and B, C, A as per viewers - the final rank will be B, A, C.

To eliminate the confusion for ur example stated I think NB also went for just audience voting to decide the champion 😕

Yep - for the semifinal, NB only used judges' ranking, and for the final, it was only public voting

You have very good points mohini.... now here we have to consider the following:

1. Whether the public will be interested in voting if they are given only 20% weightage? Will they be discouraged?
2. Whether the program can be run with such a huge expense, if u cant churn out the money from public?
3. If we expect the Zee not to lot us and still give A crore rupee contract to the contestant, is it fair??

So it is really difficult to practically implement the idea of 20% public voting though it is optimistic project

Ok now lets say this is implemented the prize is reduced to 25 lacks. Now the following questions:
1. What will be first reaction of talented singers, who have options like Indian Idol and other programs
2. With less money, they cant market the show as they did for C 2005. So the show will lose TRPs and so it will lose the advertisement money
3. Once the TRPs and advertisement is lost and good singers go to other programs, who will like to sponsor this program?
4. Sometimes competition makes u do the things u dont want to.... We saw that happening to Cellphone industry... It is also true to music and Television industry

see if one has to watch something interesting or make something interesting, he/she has to have interesting and shocking features to attract people. And for saregamapa, i think public voting is the right choice.

In L'il Champs, we all had an idea from the beginning about who is going to be in and who is going to go out soon. Everyone had guessed that armaan would go. Everyone had guessed that pranav would go. it makes a show very disinteresting to watch. That is why lil champs is not doing that well.

What they can do:They can have public voting, then since there are three judges, they can each decide if they should go with the judgment of the public or not. If 2/3 or 3/3 say yes, then the person will be out. If 2/3 or 3/3 say no, then the person will not be out and the judges will choose on who should be out. That is 50-50.... 😛

That can really bring in the audience more and what it can do is it can reach the sky when it's at it peak/finals. Now ofcourse, in the finals, there should be only public voting because obviously, the two contestants will probably be equally good and people wont really mind who wins that much.

And it doesnt even matter if the less-more deserving contestant wins. That's what happens in every show,(debojit, vinit. Sandeep, Karunya...etc.............UA was the deserving jodi though 😳 )

Whether the new vision of SRGMP is restricted to singing only?

What attributes of the contestants have to be judged while considering the results?

Whether it is fair to allow one winner when we know that much support of public goes to boys, which shall not happen?

What's the purpose of the show to bring the best singer and average performer or best performer and average singer?

The judgement system can be decided only after this questions are answered

Great Qs kabhi_21 ji. I agree with the part in bold...
