Sandhya Mukhopadhyay ruled the 'Uttam-Shuchitra' era 😛

there is 'e shudhu gaaner din....e logono gaan shonabar' from the movie 'pothe holo deri' & 'Jhanak jhanak konok kaankon baaje' from 'Indrani' which are also quite popular numbers.

I think 'jhanak jhanak kanak kankon" is by Geeta Roy/Dutt.

"E sudhu" is good too. I like the staring harmonium tune, it comes to my mind first.

Well Ritupo*no is famous for his 'erotica' 😆so to speak. yeah....we are indeed talking bout the same flick 'Utshab' portraying Prosenjit & Rituparna as a married couple.....infact that movie dealt with something even more daring as in 'incest' for the 1st time in Beng cinema......am not sure we're supposed to speak on these lines here 😕....since it is not related to music 😛

As for 'Shubho mahurat' Sharmila was the obvious suspect but I liked the way Ritupo*no portrayed Rakhi's character....playing detective to the core.....& her unique mannerisms including her incessant chatter bout her pet cat 'Horidashi' 😆 which made it seem all too real. 😊

Exactly Nonny - Ritu is quite famous these days for eroyica in bangla cinema 😉

Other than Unishe April, Utsab and Raincoat already mentioned, I personally liked Dahan quite a lot tooo... He interpreted Suchitra Bhattacharya's novel differently and did it beautifully... I was however not so impressed with Chokher Bali and Antarmahal.. Both could have been done lot lot better

I did not get a chance to see "Antarmahal", but seen "Chokherbali". Bit disappointed, but it's not Ritupo*no's fault. It's Rabindranath, I read the novel too. The plots, the complication of characters, and the elaborately stated story - it's very difficult to present in 1 1/2 to 2 hrs celluloid, and that too Rabindranath.

I remember once Ritupo*no saying"Amar dekha sera naari holo Rabindranath. No one can understand or portray a woman's character better than Rabindranath."

my mistake Pradarshakji....it is indeed sung by the legendary Geeta Dutt 😳.....as for Sandhya M.who could forget her 'Kano e hridoy....chonchol holo..ke jano daake...baare baare....kano bolo kano' from the Uttam Kumar/Anjana Bhowmick starrer 'Nayika-sambad'....it's simply mindblowing 👏
