Indeed.

Bishwajeet was very good looking and a great actor as well, but there was something else in Uttam Kumar other than his looks, which was incomparable. People will enjoy watching his movies in years to come. I don't watch any new Bangla movies. The last one I watched was 'Hothhath Brishti'.

yes both the version r gud. But yu knw wht. I lik the Sandhya's version more than Yesudas's. Yesudas's version is set bit slow. while sandhya's one is oozing with emotional contnt too esp. lines like "e daaley shey daaley nechey nechey, " whereas "baraso se jalate man kii " sounds bit insipid in comparison, although excellently sung. Thts ofcourse my own opinion and feeling.😊

Bt at places Yesudas's is better than her song. In the Yesudas's song pay attention to the line "Janam janam se hum to pyaase gaa sang mere gaaa...".NOw listen to the Bengali original. Sandhya is unable to tak the gaa... part and goes flat. Maybe as far as singing goes yesudas's is better bt I myself find the sandhya's version more better😊. maybe because of the faster versions or maybe because of some minor tune changes tht hav been made to suit her voice.

Very good analysis Barnali'di... Personally I like the Yasudas version better, kintu as you pointed out there are some parts of the original that Sandhya'di has taken to a different level 😊

Ya. I get irritated by today's Bangla movies, actors, dance, everything. I would rather watch Uttam Kumar, Bishwajeet and Shoumitro's movies over and over.

Only time I watch a Bangla movie these days is when Aparna Sen/Rituparno Ghosh/Sandip Ray makes a movie... All others are trash😕

I really liked Aparna Sen's 'Mr. & Mrs. Iyer' but that was in English. Does she have any recent Bangla movies? She is my mom's favorite actress and of course mine too.

Personally though - I have preferred Arati over Sandhya Mukherjee, but maintain that she is the greatest 😊

Sandhya Mukherjee is like Lataji, and Arati is like Asha ji. Both Fantastic. I feel Arati is better in peppy numbers just like Asha ji.

I am a big fan of Rituparno Ghosh. I just love his movies. I feel he has the the potential of becoming the next Satyajit Ray.
