not quite
"But is that a pre-req while taking part in the competition that we are discussing about?"
??? did i say it was? but as it turns out, havent most of these contestants spent years at it? banjo started learning music since she was 4, didnt she?
btw, do i still have to repeat the point abt a proper place and time for criticism that i made above? do u think that's wrong?
"Pareshjii told from the outset that he is not a "learned" person when it comes to Singing, didn't he? Then why would he talk about the details of what was missing. He told what he felt as a listener."
are you saying that this honest listener feedback is something these singers have never had before? from their own gurus? that it took a once-in-a-lifetime meeting with Mr. paresh rawal to provide this type of feedback?
and incidentally, what was some of the feedback? "acha nahee laga". priceless! like an english teacher saying she did not like the essay, and blaring it over the school loudspeakers. i am sure some people learn best with that danda, but i wld prefer a more positive approach. it works better, u know.
btw, do we seriously believe that even shaan and the organizers of the show are bringing in these gunijan because they think the contestants will get valuable feedback from them? that wld be a riot!
also, why do folks around here praise shaan? aside from the cutteee references, there is also the feeling that he is positive and encouraging to the contestants. how often have u heard him tell the contestants "acha nahee laga". according to the honesty-is-the-best-policy school of thought we are now cracking up, shldnt we castigate shaan for fudging around now? i wldnt, but that's where that policy wld lead us to.

Saying "Kasar Rah gaya" will harldy take 2 second but Samajhdaar aadmi samajh jaayega. Aor naa samajh ke lie 1 page long essay bhi de do it is useless. It is my last post regarding this 10 seconds debate. My statement is in general perspective not particular for Paresh Rawel's statement or any guest judge.
a heavy reference to samajhdari followed by a last post stand. am impressed. but sorry if i dont get it. are we disagreeing with what i wrote- that there's a time and place for offering criticism? is that wrong? didnt KK wait to be on the way home before he scolded AK?
incidentally, does one rebuke a kid in public and expect them to grow up with confidence? SHOULD they? does a boss make a job appraisal in front of other employees? SHOULD HE/ SHE?
ab, thoda precise point mil jata? i can see we dont agree, but what is it? general feeling of disagreement?
We are not disagreeing on this point.... What we are disagreeing is Paresh found both time and place.... I feel it was suitable and U dont think so.....😊

Then we agree to disagree.

Yes, I am saying that a very few other guest artist prior to this gave a feedback like this. How the guru's of the contestants gave feedback - is not shown to me so I can't comment on that. And about once-in a life time meeting. OH HELL yes. I don't think any contestant has gone to Pareshjii and asked for his opinion on their singing. If you know otherwise, please enlighten me 😉😉

"acha nahee laga". priceless! like an english teacher saying she did not like the essay, and blaring it over the school loudspeakers. i am sure some people learn best with that danda, but i wld prefer a more positive approach. it works better, u know.
again - "acchaa nahii lagaa" is softer to saying "bahut kami hai tum me" (AS said that to banjo). isn't it? As jaadoojii said samajhdaar ko ishaaraa kaafii honaa chaahiye.
btw, do we seriously believe that even shaan and the organizers of the show are bringing in these gunijan because they think the contestants will get valuable feedback from them? that wld be a riot!
So you are saying that Akshaye kapoor gave a valuless advice of doing stage shows in USA to Sharib OR subhash ghai telling vinit "tum dilse gaate ho" is just some rant?. Now THAT would be "invaluable" 😉😉

Shaan was the anchor of the show. Pareshjii was the guest artist.
Shan had some responsibilities on what he can comment and what he can't. So we shouldn't compare their comments here.

haha... now let's see what the debate here is all about. as kabhi_21 put it, "We are not disagreeing on this point...What we are disagreeing is Paresh found both time and place... I feel it was suitable and U dont think so...."
such earth-shattering stuff, no? yaar, this is why we had to have all those filmi-type "ishaaras" and the big-time "samajhdari" kee baatein. 😛LOL
yaar, samjha karo😉😆

Hello friends.
I've been in and out at work, at home, and packing for the opening of our time capsule my classmates and I made eight years ago.
Anywho, here is a story I want to share with you all.
When Rishi Kapoor was doing his first role as Raju in "Mera Naam Joker," thirteen year old Rishi kept asking his dad, "How am I doing?" and Raj Kapoor said, "Kasar Rahi (could be better)." Even in the powerful scenes when Rishi did a great job in the film, Raj Kapoor told him Kasar Rahi. In the movie Bobby, when Raj Kapoor directed it, twenty year old Rishi was still subject to Raj Kapoor saying "Not good enough... it could be better." Then Rishi asked him, "Why when I try so hard to do well, you keep saying 'kasar rahi' all the time?" Raj Kapoor said, "Because if I don't say kasar rahi, then you will fall." But deep in his heart, Raj Kapoor was very proud.
Kishore Kumar and Amit Kumar (his son) went to R.D. Burman's house to hear Amit's voice for a song RDB was composing. Amit sang very well and RDB liked his voice, but Kishoreda, on the way home, chastised him saying, "Why did you sing this part off-key?" But deep in his heart, when Amit sang his first song for Aandhi, Kishore Kumar attended the recording and had tears in his eyes. Imagine how proud he must have felt when Amit-da's hard work paid off many years later when he beat Kishoreda on the filmfare awards.
Moral of the story: Compliment appropriately and give honest (not brutally honest) opinions. If all EMET contestants were heard "acha gaya" or "ROCKING" or "MINDBLOWING" all the time, then how will they face music directors (or strict ones) that say things like, "how can you sing like that for this song?" or maybe even more harsher comments. It's better they be ready now to deal with things like this, being a part of professionalism, rather than later.
Initially, I was displeased when I heard Paresh Rawal was the judge (as with other non-musical celebrity judges). But his comments (not for the sake of sounding different) were truthful. Especially with that who SR mess, Paresh is right that don't dwelve into petty matters like this. In this competition, singing and only singing (sighs... okay performance too 🤢) matters.
Edit: This was a point I mentioned about your comparison of hype vs. training.
arre bhaiya, MY comparison? sab kuch pada hai na theek se?😛
Sure do repeat it - you seem to have the will and energy to do so 😉😉
haha... acha personality profile banaya hai. free-ka service shuru kiya hai? LOOL
again - "acchaa nahii lagaa" is softer to saying "bahut kami hai tum me" (AS said that to banjo). isn't it? As jaadoojii said samajhdaar ko ishaaraa kaafii honaa chaahiye.
Let me offer "I know you can do better" or "I was not very happy because we all know how much better you can do" as more refined/ constructive versions, if we must go negative. 😊
btw, wld that be too much sugar-coating? Gotta always use the stick to teach, inform or spur one on to greater heights, hai na? yaar, sugar-coating ab itnee bhee buree cheez nahee hai. Use karo. Hazam karne mei aasan hai, of course at the risk of running diabetes LOOL
So you are saying that Akshaye kapoor gave a valuless advice of doing stage shows in USA to Sharib OR subhash ghai telling vinit "tum dilse gaate ho" is just some rant?. Now THAT would be "invaluable" 😉😉
Yaar, ab positive negative mei pharek nahee hota? Hota hai na? In case it was not understood, I was suggesting that there is a place and time for negative criticism. When did positive feedback mixed in with career-enhancing tips enter as a point of disagreement? 😕
yaar, if negative feedback in public is so valuable, toh aisa karte hain - let's insist on having the boss give those bad performance appraisals in front of everyone? Kyoon, sahi rahega na?😛
Yes, I am saying that a very few other guest artist prior to this gave a feedback like this. How the guru's of the contestants gave feedback - is not shown to me so I can't comment on that.
dont tell me we can find revelations only when things are shown to us. ab woh finger and fire kee kahaani suni hai na? we cant learn without burning our fingers first?
yaar, waise bhee guru-shishya relationships ka kya hua? badi-badi kahaaniyan suni thhee. Theek hai, zamana kuch aisa hai, per kya sab rishte badal gaye hain? We cant expect honest feedback in private any more? LOL
