First of all, these comparisons should stop. It does not make sense to compare a song which was originally sung by a singer with lot of effort and with nothing to compare with their emotions and Sonu has done a wonderful job in Saathiyaa.
But Hema has done a wonderful job also giving his own twist to the song, which he does to all his songs. Both are good in their way.
But saying Hema was bad is ridiculous also. If you ask Sonu to sing Hai Rama, I bet he couldnt sing it as well as Hema or Hariharan. So I think singers cannot be compared like that.
i recently heard the songs from Movie Krish in HIndi and in Telugu and Sonu has sung in both versions and fair enough to say in Telugu he sounds horrible. I am sure Hema would have done a wonderful job there. so it is not fair to compare.

I agree you like Hema one hell of a lot but he is still has miles to go..if not anything else,Sonu has years of experience under his belt..and mind you he started his concerts when he was just 5-6 years old.

Let me give an example : imagine you are in grade 2 and you score a perfect 100 in maths.Inthe next test again you score a perfect 100. now everyone says you are so good in maths.

Now imagine you have an elder brother in grade 12. he manages to score just 70. in the next test again he scores around 75.

Now imagine one of your aunt comes home and compares the grade 2 fellows math result with the grade 12 fellows maths result.

My question to you is: is the comparison justified ??

I dont know what you are talking. I loved Sonu's voice long before Hema was in the picture.I am also saying that Sonu is a good singer. But you cannot compare saying Sonu is better or worse since HEma just started. Who knows in 10 years he may be better, but mind you better does not mean only in Bollywood. Yes Kumar Sanu was here much earlier than Sonu, but did we not realise that Sonu is much much better than Sanu. I think your math analogy is absurd in this case

Very well said Adi... Hema is good no doubt, but there is just no comparison between them.. Sonu is the best singer around today and has so many great songs to his credit.. He not sounding good in telegu is as true as Hema having major diction problems in Hindi, right! Sonu has taken Saathiya to another level of singing.. And add to it numbers like 'Dheere jalna', 'Soona man ka aangan' and many others.. And u know what his calibre is..

While its not proper to compare Sonu with Hema or any of the challenge singers, its more unfair on Hema - in this comparison, he will always end up in the wrong side

This way people will start comparing Vinit or Rahul Vaidya or Amit Sana with Sonu as they all sing sonu songs well.... but none of this can be compared even though they have sung some of the songs very well in the contests.....

Sonu's strengths is emoting the song by knowing the situation of songs..... Where as the contestants dont have to look for the situations..... they just hear the song and try to copy it......

Please stop comparing sonu or shaan or kay kay to new singers

waise bhee, kahaan se hema aa gaya? dekha nahee public ka judgment? hema ka number 3rd place mei lagta hai. maybe with a lot of riyaaz, he could catch up to vinit and debo. meanwhile, it is being unfair to him to be compared to the others 😉

and from what i can see, ab toh sharib peh bhee mar-mitne wale log aa gaye hain. hope folks will remember hema once they get their dose of sharib😉

I like Hemu a LOT!!
But Karishma - let them prove something first!! Why compare them with already established singers. There is no such hypothesis that singers improve as they grow older!

I was going to give you the example of Antara Choudhury (Salil da's Daughter) but then realized you might not heard of her!! You know who is Salil Choudhury - right? 😊
