Jaya,

I think I'll have to think a little hard..at the fag end of friday evening I can't seem to co-relate the movies and the songs..and I'll come back with the songs that I liked but others did not 😔

OMG, I was just listening to Raincoat songs today..

"Piya tora kaisa abhiman" and "subah subah" are too good !!

I loved Dhree jalna from Paheli too..

I agree with you.. some great songs go without notice.. while some silly songs becomes Super Duper hits

I absoultly love latest film KACHHE DHAAGE songs... Beautiful composition from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, though its song - Uppar Khuda usually sang in almost all contests... film music was not that big hit..

Thanks for this great topic. I feel like we all need to this list.

While not in the same league as the above, i thought that Kya Yehi Pyar Hai
had good music but with a flop movie, it went unnoticed.

Let's all think and add to this list.

Another movie that I can remember right now is 'Zakhm' - yet another masterpiece from MM Kreem, but other than the national award for Alka Yagnik for 'Gali me aaj chaand nikla' did not make waves..

I wouldn't like to make a classification of movies, but some songs which I feel felt unnoticed are:

- Piya Tori (Raincoat): Shuba Mudgal sounded divine... esp the line that goes 'Bheega Bheega yeh mausam aaya'.... whenever I hear this song, I feel like I am in the rain!

- Yeh Lamha (Chameli): Not publicized so much, it was a beautiful song, personally I like it more than Bhaage Re Mann and Sajna which recieved more attn.

- Naina Neer (Water): To write also is ridiculous, you must just hear this song!

- Nanimaa (Moksha): A BEAUTY of a number sung so well by Dominique I think, great great lyrics, reminds me of Naani..

- Charka Chalati Maa(Pinjar): Sung by a newcomer (can't remember her name).. beautiful song with some outstanding lyrics..
