Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Abhira questions Geetanjali’s surname, gets surprising reply

In tonight's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Abhira warmly welcomes Geetanjali and Armaan into the house. She politely asks them about their food preferences and also requests their IDs for formalities. Just then, little Maira innocently chimes in, saying she already knows everything about them and even offers to help in preparing their breakfast.

Geetanjali claims her identity

Armaan hands over his ID to Abhira, after which Abhira turns to Geetanjali and admits that she isn’t aware of her surname. Geetanjali, with a hint of attitude, responds that after marriage, a wife takes her husband’s surname.

She then firmly declares her full name as Geetanjali Poddar. This declaration leaves Abhira taken aback, though she still extends an invitation to the couple for the upcoming dandiya night.

Vidya and Manisha Clash Over Armaan’s Marriage

Meanwhile, Kaveri grows suspicious of Geetanjali and warns Vidya that the couple has returned only to trouble Abhira. She urges Vidya to keep the matter under control. Manisha, however, confronts Vidya directly, questioning whether she is secretly supporting Geetanjali.

Vidya clarifies her stance, stating that since Armaan has married Geetanjali, it is his duty to take care of her. But Manisha strongly disagrees, insisting that destiny has already brought Armaan and Abhira under the same roof and that fate will ultimately reunite them. She accuses Vidya of showing sympathy toward Geetanjali while neglecting Abhira's emotions.

In her defence, Vidya counters that Manisha speaks of caring for her daughters, yet hasn't made any effort to bring Kiara back home. To this, Manisha argues that Kiara's case cannot be compared with Abhira's and repeats her belief that destiny will bring Armaan and Abhira back together.

Abhira Battles Her Emotions

Abhira, on the other hand, battles with her inner turmoil. She tries to control her emotions but cannot understand why the thought of Armaan and Geetanjali's honeymoon bothers her so deeply, especially when she herself has seen them get married. Kaveri notices her unease and gently consoles her, reminding Abhira to also think of her own well-being while expressing how proud she is of her strength.

Geetanjali and Kaveri’s Confrontation

Later, Geetanjali spends time with Maira and asks if she has been practising how to braid hair. She reassures the little one not to stress, promising to be there for her. But Maira sweetly replies that she is learning only for Abhira's sake. Before the conversation can go further, Kaveri steps in and firmly warns Geetanjali not to interfere in Maira's matters.

Geetanjali defends herself, saying she has been around Maira longer than Abhira. Kaveri shuts her down by reminding her that the bond Abhira and Maira share cannot be measured by time or convenience. She advises Geetanjali to concentrate on her marriage with Armaan instead, since it's evident that he is still emotionally connected to his ex. Kaveri further adds that Maira, Abhira, and Armaan share an unbreakable bond, leaving Geetanjali restless.

Vidya later suggests Geetanjali return home, but Geetanjali refuses, saying she wants to show Armaan that she isn't insecure about Abhira, especially as Abhira is behaving maturely and not creating drama. Vidya warns her of the consequences, but Geetanjali is adamant to continue with her honeymoon plans.

Suspicion Over Kiara

Meanwhile, Manisha sends food for Abhir. However, when the staff arrives with the delivery, Abhir stops him. The staff unexpectedly spots Kiara and becomes suspicious. Though Abhir makes up a quick excuse, the staff refuses to believe him and insists he saw Kiara inside the Goenka house.

Puja Brings Armaan and Abhira Together

During the puja ceremony, the panditji asks the couple to perform the rituals together. To everyone's shock, Armaan refuses to participate with Geetanjali and instead expresses his desire to do the rituals with Maira.

Geetanjali protests, saying that she has spent more time with Armaan than Abhira and therefore deserves fairness. Kaveri silently prays for Abhira's happiness as the tension rises.

Later, while performing the aarti, Maira accidentally burns her hand. Abhira and Armaan rush to her side, and in the process, they end up completing the rituals together. Watching this leaves Geetanjali filled with jealousy and unease.

In the precap, Abhira questions Geetanjali about what else she expects from her. Geetanjali taunts her, asking Abhira to decorate her marital room and even prepare a romantic card for her husband. Abhira is stunned by the demand and finds herself reliving her past moments with Armaan.
