Waise knowing the Americans, probably post Aishwarya they might all start asking the not-so-light-skinned nad and dark-eyed Indians if they are really Indians 😃

I know I'm deviating...but I just had to applaud you on this one serialbuff!!!👏

That woman irritates me no end. It's highly amusing to see such a strong dislike from all towards her. 😕Or, if not dislike, then definitely a greater preferance for and appreciation of Sushmita.😊

I'd get started on Sallu as well...but that would be really deviating.😳

Nahin nahin, UAE mein itni stupidity nahin bardasht karni padti jitni USA mein. UAE stupidity is more Bollywood related. All the questions I have posted with the exception of two have been asked of me when I have been visiting America. In UAE, we are known as Hindi because we belong to Hind, not because of religion!

Thank you, though I must admit that I am not a Sallu fan. However, the only movie in which she showed some signs of being alive was HDDCS, and I believe that was because she was truly in love with him and it reflected in the movie. Just my opinion!

Sush is so articulate, and composed. I met her at a special screening in Delhi, and I was impressed! What grace, what simplicity! 👏👏

Coming to the main topic:

Once I was asked a question by my friend who is a Indian Originated Singaporean. She has hardly visited India and was excited to show her 14 year old son what India is about. She booked tickets in the A/C first class. Asks me if every station has an announcement made in the train and has the route map in every compartment like in the MRT services here.

👏👏👏

sorry for the digression-

i'd be the first to say she disappointed me on all her various appearances out west, but at least she doesn't walk around with chappals or other oot-patang outfits. Also, take most females who've spent most of their lives back home, that too surrounded by people in an industry with a limited world view and who live with their parents. what would you expect- someone who would interview like a Harvard grad or a CEO? yaar, i'd rather not have someone like Sushmita (who might talk better, but looks like a do*) get up in front- most desis here fall in that category anyway, intelligent to talk to but insipid in other ways.

i think the problem was we knew she cld have hit a home run and did not. she fell in terms of our expectations, not in terms of what she accomplished vis-a-vis any other indian female b4. n in any case, i wldnt want folks here thinking most indian females look like 😡. The intelligence quotient we have established with various achievements by desis, but we havent yet established the looks quotient... ash brought that for most of us..

😉

😆

She must have gotten a shock that there are no escalators leading to the train platforms, no automatic doors on trains, no trolleys to move your luggage.

The same lady wanted her cousin to accompany her on the way. But, scared that if a bomb blasts, his wife and children will become orphans.

I've gotten ... "So you landed at Ellis Island?"

... Have you seen an airport on Ellis Island???!!! 😕

And if I just say no, I didn't, they'll say..."So you came through Angel Island?"

... Did we not just go over this???

😆
