This 75% of the populace that you speak of Appaji also share a remarkable trait. They divvy up the work and careers in such an orderly , almost worker bee like manner that it is colossally amazing!!
To illustrate - they don't flock towards being only Engineers, Lawyers or Doctors. They are so happy opening a tattoo parlor or being a plumber (in a manner of speaking) that there is never a dearth of careers and people , mostly, take pride in whatever it is they do and do it so very conscientiously that I regret greatly that we do not have that in India.
...that one outstanding trait ...
and I bow to that 👏
isnt that the way it is everywhere- ab sab koi toh einstein nahee ho sakta! true in every corporation, true for countries as well.
btw, how much international GK do our own folks back home possess? 60% are so poor for starters that they cant afford the luxury of studying up on international affairs. how many of our folks from rural villages wld know the "real" west? and who is an indian? the guy in the metro or the guy in the village. there are so many different indias that it wld be pretty hard to generalize. in similar vein, there are different "wests".
my usual premise is that people the world over are mostly the same. how do we know how we wld be if the circumstances were different.
how accepting are we of folks who look and talk different than us? wld we accept them into our lives, into our families?
if i were to generalize, i'd say this- the brightest of the folks out west are brighter than anyone anywhere... the bottom is abt as dumb as anyone. yes, we were true innovators milleniums ago, but somehow i dont think that's the case as much anymore. yes, we learn fast, but innovators?
